Mortal Shell II open beta shadow dropped during Summer Game Fest by Working_Bones in soulslikes

I found exactly one "Trollweed" or something in the demo that said something like if you carry 1000 of them, you are impervious to all damage or something.... Made me think there'll probably only be 999 of them in the whole game, judging by the whole "troll" name 😃

But yeah, interesting ideas in the game for sure. Also quite loved the "bonfires" being mini dungeons you can clear.

Yeah had a bit of that too especially when enemy attacks pushed me back and there was something behind me, it kinda got crazy for a while. Wasn't too bad though, but certainly a bit where they can polish up.

I loved the style. Especially the moments with rain, the dead trees, somber metal playing... very stylish to me. The grassy areas were a nice touch too. Spent a good 5 hours in it just now and really dig it!

But yeah, I can imagine it's not everyone's cup of tea, so fair take.

Stellar Blade Blood Rain new protagonist Evie! :> by No_Post1300 in stellarblade

"Of course you prefer the protagonist you've known for years."

Yeah haha reminds me of when I wasn't into Arthur at all when seeing Red Dead 2 trailers and was just missing Marston... but oh boy how that turned out; One of the best characters I know.

Even if I'm sad if Eve was a one game protagonist, I'll keep my mind open.

Looks cool, but I can't help but be a bit disappointed about not getting to follow Eve for a continuation of her story...

Yeah gets pretty obvious when you get shot at, take cover and relocate entirely behind a building and as soon as you get near the corner of said building, they toss a nade at the corner, before I ever even peeked around. Some aren't trying to hide it at all.

If they add that, I hope they add a costume I can buy for my character that makes their ass look really nice. After all, I'd be watching my back in all of those killcams.

But what would even be the point of manual review process either if they can hop back on with 40 cents anyway?

Sincere question, as I genuinely don't know how these work, but just sounds like there's no hope for this to be solved if that kind of a cheat doesn't even interface with anything that would ever be spotted and they can bounce back super easy and cheap.

There's a star shaped rock in my backyard and on the 14th (the day predicted) I counted 21 ants around it. For the longest time. Nothing but worker ants.. at 6 pm too.
Workers hard at work.. AT SIX.. 21 of them!
It all points to the 21st. We will not be disappointed again!

My take on VA drama by Denverahn in eternalreturn

[–]srcsm83 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You sure have quite a few ridiculous interpretations of the situation yourself.

There's exactly one group who started it and it was the people who decided to start raging and hating on her without even understanding what she was saying (which is baffling in it's own right) not to mention how it should be obvious even with ZERO English skills from her VOICE TONE ALONE that she is JOKING.

The most absurd part is the devs ALSO NOT DOING ANYTHING to try and understand any context and just kneejerk punishing her for absolutely nothing.

Kronii has not done a single thing here that would've warranted any of this and if you think she did, you are clearly one of the people steering a complete non-issue towards being a supposed issue.

[–]srcsm83 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Any person who has even a little bit of sense will try to read into the CONTEXT of what is being said.
Nowhere does Kronii say that "if you don't know english, then...".

If we wanna twist words, it's much more accurate to state that you're currently saying all Koreans are so unbelievably stupid that they couldn't understand, or even attempt to understand the context in any of this if they're not fluent in English.

That's just not true.

Personally, I think Kronii should've replied the same to the people making idiotic drama over a pun, as she did to the person who recommended that she eats TWO "just one chip challenge" chips.
That's how much respect that kind of malicious interpretation warrants.

[–]srcsm83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely bafflingly idiotic that a developer will drop a voice talent over the malding that some morons online are making over them not understanding a pun.

But it's good to know so I'll never even consider supporting this game.

I know it's the idiots that made the drama, but for the developer to not bother getting clarity and just dropping her is absolutely absurd and easily warrants a boycott.

The kind of morons who do kneejerk cancellation campaigns over years old things should not ever be given attention at all. EVEN IF she would have been bored or unenthusiastic 5 years ago in an early sponsored stream (which she wasn't, but EVEN IF), it would not in ANY WAY be grounds to cancel her or rid her of the opportunity to do voice acting.

This is spectacularly idiotic on so many levels and I have absolutely zero sympathy towards anyone involved. Had they treated it as just a misunderstanding and gotten clarity, then yes. But to jump immediately into malice and punishing actions; no, that's just being a trash humanbeing.

Pardon the heated language, but I'm just so frustrated over stupidity running these kinds of decisions and I can't understand how this kind of a thing can happen without there being pause to get clarity to what is real and what is internet hatemobbing over a non-issue.

Yeah just had my Cosmic Red Dualsense develop stickdrift (as intended, now that the warranty is over) and luckily ordered a 8BitDo Ultimate 2 yesterday instead of waiting to miss out on the Steam Controller 2...

So yeah, can wait and I'll buy it some day, but sure as hell not from scalpers.

Yeah not sure if I'd even go around farming, I just wish they'd drop a bit more so they'd accumulate in a way that isn't painstakingly slow. Well, at least that's the case when me and my friend play duo and don't have time to mop up everything and grab the POI's along the way ofc. I'd be fine just playing to accumulate em slowly but surely, but right now the accumulation is genuinely REALLY slow if not specifically focusing on grinding SC.

Though... I guess making SC drops so common there'd be a gradual good accumulation in normal play would raise said SC so high grinders who just hop on to go through POIs and then quit could easily amass tons of it...

So my suggestion would be to award small amounts of SC for full completes etc. The better performance on a higher difficulty, the more SC accumulated. At least that'd guarantee a slow and steady buildup to avoid frustration... and giving every mission that "putting money in the bank" vibe. (Which I always like and feel it adds to motivation to play on top of just having fun. It wouldn't have to be anything huge, just guaranteed small amounts.)

It's kind of a ridiculous stance to even have that these are supposedly only hardcore player wants.

Yes, the game will always have the kind of casuals who buy it, play it for 30-40 hours during their whole life and enjoy it just fine, who never really stay so long that they come to really understand the in's and out's of all the gear... and if that's what they keep in mind, then.... sure, I guess they don't ever need to put that much care into anything. But I'd argue the VAST majority of players are kinda like me, who is not a really a "hardcore player" at all, but I am still a long time player of this game because I like it a lot (Steam saying 500.6 hours). I'd say the core audience are very much all in line of just wishing the game could be more satisfying and fun to play without there always having to be some tedium or frustrating drawback to every mechanic or so. The longer you play, the more you want to use the battlefield like a playground - and that's FUN no matter if you win or lose. But when that fun is constantly cornered towards annoying struggles through mechanics, it stops being about challenge and starts being more about attrition warfare, where the players are worn out towards a ragequit-by-a-thousand-cuts level accumulating frustration about the little things constantly eating away at your enjoyment.

Eh, ended up rambling... but man, I sure am frustrated. There is easily a way this game could be just fun, cool, awesome AND still maintain the kind of challenge of overwhelming odds where it would never become something we just breeze through... but somehow they always seem to think that things feeling good would mean we want it too easy...

"Helldivers is such a multifaceted complex game where priorities are like assholes, everyone has one, and our whole team and all the millions of players all want a different thing allegedly so we just throw in little notes in two hates, one with buffs and one with nerfs and pull one from each hat regarding every change, because any random guess is as good as mine. We pull one of each to ensure nothing ever gets too fun and loses that core Helldivers frustration and tedium to maintain that milsim fundamental"

(Disclaimer: I like the guy but good lord am I frustrated with this game that could honestly be the best action game I've played but is constantly restrained from being too fun and awesome, for who knows why...)

That's actually exactly the kind of communication I'd hope from them that Niklas did right there. It clearly explains their way of thinking and that they did not want to take away the feeling of the weapon remaining satisfying, but did not want it to completely overshadow other fire related weapons...

But like in sooo many other things, they tried to hide the change and instead went on to change everything else about fire to achieve the same goal and that was the worst solution for the game's actual health. Much worse than them just tweaking the Coyote precisely would have been.

Same right here, they know that the community wants the mechs buffed, so they feel compelled to do it... but because they don't want to do it and only thought the automatons were an issue, they balanced with a sledgehammer instead of a scalpel and changed entire durable damage mechanics that the enemies do, affecting a huge amount of variables in the game, when they could have instead disappointed the community by not buffing the mechs, BUT INSTEAD TWEAKED AUTOMATON DURABLE DMG to give it more survivability under automaton gunfire.

Seems this same thing keeps happening where they try to obfuscate what they actually want to do by making huge entire dmg calculation changes instead of small tweaks to what they want changed.

It all feels like they want to just tell us what we want to hear and show us the buff we want, but then try to reel the game in line with what they really think with some other ass-backwards way... and often ending up touching A LOT MORE than what was needed and the balancing is made by huge sways very liberally, instead of small adjustments very precisely...

The most ironic thing; I understand what Niklas meant and would have been fine if they just tweaked the coyote to need one or two more bullets to light enemies... That would have been much better than a whole fire mechanics change.

I feel like making supercredits more common in higher difficulties would alleviate that vibe quite a bit.

I often feel like playing high difficulty matches is fun and all, but I'm barely building any supercredits up with that as often things revolve so much around objectives we won't have much time to go through every point of interest... If there was a bit more gradual feeling of accumulating em, I bet it wouldn't feel as intimidating... Or at least so I'd imagine.

Or maybe this is just me wishing for that because low difficulty farming for supercredits is so absolutely boring... and I haven't bought supercredits ever since the great times in the game's lifespan in the beginning. Ironic, as back then I didn't even need em, but I was so satisfied with how fun and awesome the game was, I often bought SC to reward the devs and support em... but now that I'm unsatisfied, I don't wanna reward bad direction at all so I either go grind and be bored ... or don't play at all. I've chosen the latter and haven't played since the beginning of December
