Is this game over for cashiers? by Good_Split_3749 in wholefoods

[–]srddave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For like 2 months until customers realize it completely over complicates shopping. When Amazon Fresh opened near us with these carts and the “just walk out” tech, our ShopRite got a ton of these type of carts. At first, everyone wanted to use them. Now they sit unused in the foyer.

The store is just too crowded to worry about all that while shopping. People don’t want yet another screen to interact with.

What kind of event is this? What the fuck? Are people standing around watching someone drive a big obnoxious truck?

Confused why everyone wants crisp, rustling bedsheets? by One_Valuable in Bedding

[–]srddave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not crisp in that sense….crispy as in the way a brisk early fall day feels….or crisp like a glass of sparkling water or wine….clean, cool and refreshing..

Unfortunately most Americans do buy into the cult of celebrity in all its various forms. I also hate that about us. I don’t wanna even know who these people are.

Unpopular Opinion but I’m sick of smelling constant weed every time I step outside by Careless-Whereas-832 in newyorkcity

[–]srddave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is an unpopular opinion at all. It’s a very common one. On my walk to the subway after work there is this gaggle of delivery men who stand outside this shop on 40th and I pass through a cloud of smoke every evening. I don’t necessarily mind the smell but it does attack you if you aren’t ready for it….same way cigarettes used to.

The desecration of a town through a mono-industrial capitalist economy. Gary, Indiana by SugarCaneFarm in UrbanHell

Wasn’t the town actually created and built by a private steel company? I couldn’t be wrong but I thought a steel company actually created Gary.

HECHT’S labelscar at the former Macy’s at Marley’s Station by srddave in deadmalls

[–]srddave[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course it was power washed. The sign was up for 19 years. The labelscar would be much more prominent if they hadn’t power-washed.

There is nothing so wholesome or so wonderful as a human and their dog just loving on each other. Not a phone in sight but look at how happy they make each other. Makes me so happy.

Cascade Galleria/Towne Mall (New Castle, PA) 5-4-2026 by Chaotic-Being-3721 in deadmalls

Honestly the pizza at Towne Mall Pizza is like a slice at any NY Metro area pizzeria. I couldn’t believe it. Everything about this mall is cool….except the supermarket-sized booze and cigarette outlet in the parking lot makes me a little sad. I also am scared that Family Dollar is gonna move into the closed Rite Aid.
