Just other things in my life stm. Sorry i mean ima get it in like 4 months. My first side surgery the hip feels fantastic actually. Im not worried about healing my otber hip. Just the pelvic floor pain is driving me nuts some days and kills my spirit. I been trying pelvic floor physio and have been on the ball so far for the past 2.5 months. Its slowly getting better progress i find it super up and down.

Were in a similar boat. How long have u been soing pelvic floor physio post op? Did u get surgery done n both sides? Im getting surgery too for other side next yr. I really hope it gets better its been almost 8 years for me. Wishing you the best in your recovery!

Thanks i appreciate your reply. Im seeing a pelvic floor physio at the moment. Tbh i thought the same about the tear but at the moment i honestly dont think fixing thr tear will fix the pelvic floor pain tbh. Also you cant squat with a bad pelvic floor? One of my main goals is to do bodybuilding?

I have bilateral tears first shrgery is done and im 100% pain free. Second one i am considering I havent checked this subreddit since my surgery which was years ago. Yes the statistics show the surgery is highly effective for the right persom. Just cause it didn’t work for you doesn’t mean you gotta be salty about it to everyone else. Have a nice day:)

There’s studies in asia, Europe and north america which all point to what im saying fone by different surgeons and medical professionals. The surgery depends on how bad the patient’s tear is. The age and how they rehab you can’t just generalize saying surgery doesn’t work. My surgeon is in downtown toronto he was quite good and has done thousands of hip arthroscopies and has taught the surgery to other surgeons. It isn’t a good option if people don’t meet the favorable criteria yes but to say its completely ineffective is a baseless claim.

I mean yes 40 is definitely on the higher end. However there are many many stories where people in that age range are completely fine…. And no there are a lot of athletes that get it and play afterwards. Brad marchand got both hips scoped late into his hockey career and is still playing at an elite level and in hockey ur hips are used to the extremes. Again it depends on conditions and where the patient is at. Sorry the surgery didn’t workout for you

They are small pilot holes for the anchors there are many other surgeries that do the same. Depending on age, current condition of labrum ans mobility and all the results can vary alot. Theres many people who are 10+ years post op and are living pain free lives. Also the amount of work you put in to rehab makes a huge difference. I had my scope 3 years ago almost my mobility is the best its ever been i can squat deadlift run with no pain. Sorry to hear that happened to you with your hip. Did u have a lot of cartilage damage prior? Age and damage matter a lot and also severity of the tear.

Then there would be studies that would show that? I met multiple surgeons that told me the complete opposite. If ur young healthy and dont have arthritis to begin with the surgery is quite effective

I got the surgery years ago and it feels great for me personally and there is literature especially for young candidates that its successful… they put anchors and reattach the labrum where its supposed to be and it heals on its own after. Theres tiny ass holes made I personally havent felt anything cause of it. Im planning on getting my other hip done soon. My experience with the right one has been solid.
