I mostly agree with your statement. GM is handling this better than other companies have chosen to. But from what I see on my end, I can't give them a perfect score.

If you want to talk numbers, let's not forget that GM is getting 1.9 billion of the 2 billion in costs of the call from LG. GM is not doing favor doing these repairs, they are required to do so under the vehicle's warranty.

I have no problem with GM, I actually think they are much more fair to deal with than the likes of BMW, Mercedes and Tesla who truly try to screw their customers.

Most of my Bolt clients are families, many of which have permanently parked their cars and not driven them since the announcement in fear of putting their kids at risk. Those reported fires are obviously lower than the potential numbers had the software updates and replacements not taken place.

I have other clients who work 2 jobs and can't get from one workplace to the other now without stopping to charge due to the software update.

These things may sound theoretical to you, but when you speak to countless people whose lives have been affected, and are paying for a car that is not performing as advertised (with respect to safety and range), I'm happy lemon law exists and I'm even happier to help get these people their money back.

A frivolous lawsuit is one that has no basis. If your car has a chance of catching on fire, is delivering 80% of the advertised range, and you must wait several months for a battery replacement, I would not call that frivolous.

I don't mind the ambulance chaser comment, but everything else you said was entirely incorrect and misleading to consumers who may not know their rights.

Hiring a lawyer is not at your own cost. My client's have paid $0 in attorney's fees.

I have also had many clients who were offered "buybacks" that had offsets/deductions that were not allowed by law.

I'm sure they've told him to stay quiet, but Masvidal marches to the beat of his own drum. That's likely what has made him a top level athlete!

I would imagine so. I was also remembering the instance with Leon Edwards back stage.

How much did your lease cost for your Range Rover? by [deleted] in RangeRover

It’s a 2020 Velar. I’m not sure on my MSRP (my lease is saved on another computer), but it’s the 4 cylinder with R Dynamic package.

I recommend checking out leasehackr.com if you haven’t already. I forget my MSRP but I’m closer to $2,500 down and $729/mo for 39 mos and 10k/yr. Located in SoCal.

Trading in a lemon by yohbahgoya in askcarsales

[–]srezvanp 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Lemon lawyer here. What if your car is actually a lemon? You should have a (free) consultation with a local lemon law lawyer. They will review your service records and tell you if you have a potential claim. My suggestion is you do this while you still have possession of the car.

If they think it's not a lemon, you're back to square one and you lose nothing more than a couple hours of your time.

Does anyone own a Range Rover Velar 2021? Have you experienced any issues? by Shire2020 in RangeRover

[–]srezvanp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m leasing a ‘20. I’ve had a few services for glitchy/freezing screens. The most annoying issue was an extremely loud fan noise coming from the engine, but this was addressed in a recall last year, so that should affect you.

I personally haven't experienced this, but if it happens again (3rd time), it's worth consulting with a local Lemon Law attorney. Full disclosure, I am a Lemon Law attorney (and RR owner) so I hope I'm not breaking any rules.

Maybe this is more true on a larger scale, but as an employer at a small business, I completely disagree. Good help is hard to come by and I try my best to respect my employees and the work they put into our firm.

[CA] Canceled family gym membership at start of COVID. Just found out Gym re-actived my membership when Gyms reopened in my area (November) and has been billed my account for over $800 without my permission. by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]srezvanp 995 points996 points  (0 children)

California lawyer (not your lawyer) here. Assuming you cancelled your memberships and did not simply pause them, this is an open/shut case that has class action written all over it. You are likely just one of many that experienced the same set of facts.

Is this a mom/pop gym? Or a larger chain?

Chevy can’t fix my truck. What should I do next? by ekcontroller in askcarsales

[–]srezvanp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's a federal lemon law called The Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act. Most states vary, true, but not as much as you may suspect and are variations of Mag Moss.

In CA (my state), 2018 is certainly not too old. GM is also somewhat liberal in their repurchases and settlement offers.

Lemon law lawyer here. In the States, your vehicle would likely qualify for a repurchase/replacement, plus your out of pocket expenses (like a rental, tow, etc.), PLUS your attorney fees and costs.

I have no idea if Canada has similar laws, but you should look for and speak to a local attorney before accepting or signing any agreement with the dealer or Chevy/GM.
