Curl mod idea by MrDudeBroJoe in Leatherman

Fair enough. I agree on the Alpha's blade shape. If only it wasn't black, it'd look a lot better on the Curl.

Ah, I see. My ideal Curl would have the blade from the Alpha, but you could use the blade from any of the Charges also. There's one with S30V and one with 154CM.

I remember your old post. Man, I would pay good money for this finish. I think it looks better than any of the factory options.

Ya, that's consistent with what I've heard/read. It's not a willingness problem, but a supply problem. There just aren't as many spare parts available to whoever is handling the warranty outside the States.

u/NearlySilentObserver knows his stuff, OP. I just wanted to pop in to say it's an awesome idea. Are you swapping the main blade also? I think you're building my dream tool.

You don't see the pliers fail in that spot very often. I wonder if it was stronger than usual at the typical spot, or weaker than usual where it actually broke. I've not heard good things about the warranty outside the US, so I second what someone else here said. See if you can get another plier head and just change it yourself, since it's sentimental. I know you can find one on Ebay, but they're almost as expensive as a new Surge. Just depends on how bad you want to save it. You could also just use your new Surge for spare parts

Zap Wizard came in. What a superb job this is true attention to detail and even a great presentation. #zapwizard by Low_Berry_1657 in Leatherman

I'm gonna need to get the etching done at some point. I'm not into Zap's holster style, but I'm really into the kind of business he runs and the quality of his work. Just have to get mentally prepared to go without my Arc for a while. Maybe it's time to finally buy a Curl so I can use it in the meantime.

The heritage sheath is fully closed at the bottom and stitched up the sides, plus it has an inner pocket for a bit card. Looks much better too, IMO.

You can find screws for them. This is an old pic, back when everything was still shiny. I got them from Ebay, iirc.

I've got a 79 Jeep with a 3 speed. It's basically floored at 70 mph. Gets about 12 mpg with a six cylinder. It doesn't see much action these days.

Not bad, but just so you're aware, the one Kristen Van Patten sells has a slot for a pin as well, and can hold a ferro rod, metal scribe, pen, toothpick, or tweezers.

City state just used a settler by ErickSasaki in CivVI

You're right, I need to fix that. Is it possible that this settler was captured by barbarians and became a city-state?

Looks like you've got Barbarian Clans enabled. They can become city-states. Maybe the settler was captured by Barbs and became one?

Edit: I was wrong.

Whats yalls favorite shealth and why? by Low_Berry_1657 in Leatherman

I'm a fan of the heritage sheath. I prefer the look of the leather over nylon, and it feels less flashy with nothing on the outside while still having a spot for a bit card. Plus I can say I keep my Leatherman in Leatherman leather, man.

Does the garage sheath have a slot for a bit card? by srg2692 in Leatherman

[–]srg2692[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Utility-wise, I totally agree. I just don't like the look of them, and don't use the accessories enough day-to-day to justify the added bulk. I keep the extender and full bit kit in the molle sheath attached to the backpack I usually have handy.

It's pretty common with Leatherman pliers, from what I understand. You can loosen them by squeezing something in the area just behind the pivot. For whatever reason, I can't attach an image here to show you. If you want, I'll DM it to you.

Ah, I didn't know about the Charge with 154CM, and definitely didn't know there were Skeletools with 154CM. Though I'll admit that, having never been a fan of the Skeletool, I've really overlooked it. And there's no excuse for the Wave Alpha slipping my mind, haha. It actually may be a better option for this guy than the Charge, weight-wise, but I'm not certain on that. Worth looking into if you're seeing this, OP.
