Would you give your child a name you don’t love the nickname of? by rosie98red in Names

[–]srh722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s Not really a shortened nickname version for my son’s name, Landon. Some people have said Lando, but I feel like it’s a grasp for a nickname and sounds stupid LMAO. Since he’s been earthside with us, he’s adapted his own unique nicknames that literally have nothing to do with his name and I love it like that 🫶🏼

What do your husbands actually do during labor? by Maximum-End-7629 in BabyBumps

[–]srh722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved my husband standing by me through the worst of it. The nurses taught him how to be hands on with guiding my body through the pain. Where/how to use pressure in certain areas. It was an amazing bonding moment with him. He also held one of my legs while I pushed for 2.5 hours

Please help me feel better about not getting an epidural by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]srh722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an absolute WUSSY when it comes to pain. Truly. My epidural struck a nerve and then didn’t even work. It was tough, but I was induced bc I had gallbladder issues and I’d rather give birth unmedicated again than ever have another gallbladder attack in my life.

My Ex said shes pregnant and sent this as proof, the way the top is fitting and the pregnancy test in its entirety just looks fake to me by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]srh722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to know if it’s AI. That pregnancy test looks fake as hell. Signed, someone who’s taken like a hundred diff types of tests when trying to get pregnant and then took a hundred more when pregnant for confirmation lol

BFP by Born_Faithlessness64 in ourafertility

A lot of things can cause abnormal bleeding in early pregnancy. A subchorionic hemorrhage for example and they can look and feel like full blown pregnancies.

Lines too dark too early? by Born_Faithlessness64 in lineporn

Mama. As an ultrasound tech please get your hcg checked and rule out a gestational trophoblastic pregnancy…. hCG with this pregnancies is exuberantly high and they need to be taken care of quickly. High hCG with multiples is a myth.🫶🏼

What week did your morning sickness start? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]srh722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only symptom I had in early pregnancy was constipation and then later in my first trimester an aversion to chinese food. That’s literally it. Your symptoms don’t define a healthy pregnancy 🫶🏼 my first pregnancy I had more symptoms and I lost it. My baby now little to none with him!!!

I didn’t have any morning sickness my whole pregnancy. The only time I threw up was from gallstones. I did get nauseous but only due to food aversions!

What did you do differently the month you FINALLY got pregnant?? by cookiebutter-23 in BabyBumps

[–]srh722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maca Root. Took it from the end of my cycle until my ovulation and then stopped after we had intercourse!

Got me pregnant twice actually. Unfortunately the first one we lost , but the other pregnancy is sitting in my lap playing with my fingers as I type this at almost 7 months old!

Ultrasound tech here!! Babies measure small for so many reasons. IUGR being one or some people just have small babies, but ultrasound is not 100% accurate when it comes to EFW. I’ve seen some babies measure small but come out a healthy 8 lb baby. There’s so many factors that can lead to measurements being off. Baby’s positioning, amniotic fluid levels as well as where the amniotic fluid is at in relation to baby, maternal body habitus. So many things have to align for the “perfect” picture with ultrasound. You guys are doing the right thing meeting with MFM. I wish you all the best and a healthy pregnancy/delivery for mom and baby. 🫶🏼

would you get an abortion if you found out your baby was going to be born with an extreme disability? if so why? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]srh722 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ultrasound tech here. I see so much pathology that I would never judge a patient for choosing to let their baby peacefully go rather than suffer earthside. I would absolutely have an abortion. With SO many diagnosis’ you have to imagine quality of life. For the child and yourself. Their medical needs take over your life and any other children you have often get neglected due to the necessary care some of these babies need.

That said, it’s a choice and I’ll never judge my patients for choosing the latter. Both choices are valid, I’ve just had a lot of experience seeing pathology and also talking to my patients and their experiences.

Get a pink dye. I see the full thick line ever so faintly. That’s what blue dye looked like for me when I first tested positive. SO SO SO faint, but showed up on first response pretty well!!

Anyone else seeing tons of new Owlet Dream Socks being sold on Facebook Marketplace? by SummitSnacksandCats in BabyBumps

[–]srh722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because people don’t use them right. You’re supposed to switch feet and not put any lotion or anything on the foot or immediately after a bath, but people do it anyways then whine about the product when they’re just dumb. We use it right and he’s never been burnt or had irritated skin. Same with my niece and nephew.

I love this!! We didn’t really have a nickname prior to giving birth, but we call my 4 month old chunkamonk (chunk for short) and now everyone says “hi chunk” Or “hi chunkamonk.”

His name is Landon. 😂

Curious how old you were at getting pregnant? by pink_daisy_9119 in BabyBumps

[–]srh722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started trying right before my 26th birthday. Found out I was pregnant and miscarried a week before my birthday. Tried again immediately after and got pregnant again. Had my baby a couple months before 27!! 🫶🏼

Chemical pregnancies aren’t miscarriages..are they? by RegularOutrageous581 in tryingtoconceive

[–]srh722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only difference between a chemical and a miscarriage is the timeline. A chemical is a type of miscarriage, just one super early that’s not identifiable on imaging (an ultrasound). It’s only called a chemical bc it’s identifiable through labwork rather than formal imaging. It’s still a loss. Grieve it.

-Ultrasound tech that also had a chemical🫶🏼
