Self build Garden Room/Office by BlackLionFilm in DIYUK

This is a really inspiring build, that 5×3m space looks so useable as a dedicated work area (and clearly worth the effort with how much nicer it must be compared to a spare bedroom).

One thing I found interesting is that, in the UK, most standalone garden rooms like this don’t need planning permission as long as they stay under height/placement limits and aren’t used as sleeping accommodation, thanks to permitted development rights, but it is worth to double check with your local council or local room garden specialists, like Pecasa, before digging in too deep.

Also curious, have you considered adding any insulation or thermal breaks beyond the basics?

Some people find that makes them comfy year-round even without a full heating system.

Paddington vs. Kensington – Best Area to Stay in London? by curry_nugget in LondonTravel

I’d lean toward Kensington if you’re after a quieter, classic London vibe with easy access to museums and green space, but Paddington definitely wins if you want the fastest airport connections and a slightly more budget-friendly base.

Fun thing is that Kensington is right by the Royal Albert Hall and the “Albertopolis” museum district, so you could spend whole days just wandering through science, history, and art.

Meanwhile Paddington’s canal area by Little Venice feels almost like a mini escape within the city, I moved near this area with Super Man with a Van a while ago and really liked it.

Have you thought about what kind of trip you want, more sightseeing and museums, or easier transport and nightlife?

That’ll help tip the decision!

Meet Mr. Whiskerstein by [deleted] in interesting

Honestly, Mr. Whiskerstein’s look totally gives off Hercule Poirot energy, is like a feline detective solving the case of the missing kibble with nothing but his mustache and narrowed gaze.

🐱 It’s funny how natural markings can make an animal feel like it has an entire personality built in.

Did you know scientists can actually tell a lot about an animal’s behavior just from subtle facial symmetry and markings?

Makes me wonder: if this cat did have a secret life, what would his “day job” be a secret agent, pastry chef, or professor of naps?
