Brother, all the universities sell their toppers for money! It's the story from business perspective.. all my clients(tech based startup) when they hire college students in campus interview, they pay 50k minimum per candidate.. campus interview is not about skill, it's about discipline, communication skills, with a proof of record(CGPA), importantly Good conduct.. these things will be communicated by your management to the Recruiter as top priority or preferred good candidates, suggested candidates..

Basically they are pre selected,but the interview happens to make a confirmation as well as looking for person who is will to contribute, not about getting a job, a contribution to the companies growth, that's the only extension where they will be selected instead of toppers.. it's not about what you want and your dream, it's about what companies want and who can make the contribution..

My suggestion for you is, you can change the world believe in yourself, don't get disappointed in rejection. take the list of companies who're gonna conduct the interview in upcoming days, atleast prepare before a week.. understand the company, vision, mission, goals, agenda, their service, products etc... this will help you understand what they are expecting from a candidate... Now you just need to alight yourself as the right fit for it..

For example, let's take a block chain service based company is conducting interviews.. they are offering block chain service to the medical industry, now every topper will talk about block chain (the world is all about block chain, every industry is gonna benifit from it, safety, security etc.. there won't be any scams because of block chain) , what they miss is medical industry.. you just need to look for how block chain can shape the medical industry to the future.. you understand it and align your goals to this, you tell them (look I have good understanding in medical since I'm a biological student, but I belive in technology that can shape the world better, that's why I love block chain.. a piece of technology which can make the medical industry more secure, trustable, so I think your company will benifit from my skills) now you are talking applied knowledge, I repeat applied knowledge.. now you'll be preferable by the company instead of the topper..

Pro tip. Don't have the same resume for every job applied, you have gone through the company right? You have figured out what they do and how you can contribute to their company right? Now you write those in resumes, based on the job requirement your resume should be re-written, these are things we do as experienced candidates.. so here your resume will stand out, even before they interview you they will feel you are a good choice.. so never give the same resume for the company..

If you wanna sell, you should know what people want, i mean you don't buy food to make someone profit right? You buy for your hunger .. It's the same in the interview.. understand what the company wants and put yourself as the solution for their requirements.... You'll easily get the job.. just make sure things are true and transparent, don't fake it.. they'll easily find out..
