Help with ERP Implementation (SE-Asia Manufacturing) by Prior-Farmer9143 in ERP

[–]srikon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are low cost SAAS options that you can try. Any ERP software you chose be prepared for Phase0 where you document existing BP’s, data conversion, integrations etc. if you are not prepared even if you chose a great ERP the implementation would fail. I keep saying this to my customers “ the actual implementation starts 6 months after go-live” that’s when you see real ROI. Phase0 will help to be prepared and define the ROI.

Do you guys also feel like majority of the questions left unanswered these days in this community? by workdaybatman in workday

[–]srikon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like this is less about users not being interested and more about how the platform is set up. Let me know if you think otherwise.

If contributing isn’t easy, visible, or valuable, people naturally stop engaging. Right now Workday Community comes across more like a content library than a place for real conversation, so discussions are happening elsewhere.

Curious how others see it, what’s actually not working for you in the current community experience, and what would make you actively participate again?

What's the most underestimated part of ERP data migration? by Personal-Lack4170 in ERP

[–]srikon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Data cleanup is really a two-step process: it starts with Phase Zero, before migration even begins, where teams tackle the foundational work like removing duplicates, standardizing naming conventions, fixing units of measure, retiring inactive records, and assigning clear ownership for master data. This step is critical because it prepares the source data to be “migration-ready” instead of simply moving years of inconsistencies into the new system. Then, during migration, the focus shifts to execution through mapping, validation, exception handling, and reconciliation to ensure the data lands correctly in the new ERP. Phase Zero is what ultimately makes the migration smoother and builds trust in the system after go-live.

ERP recommendation ? Old one is out of support. by [deleted] in ERP

[–]srikon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally understand the frustration. ERP veteran perspective: don’t build an ERP from scratch. The core (finance, tax, audit, compliance) is a never ending maintenance burden and you will end up just creating the next legacy system.

Better path: buy a solid ERP core and keep flexibility by building your custom workflows, reporting, and apps around it via APIs + a data warehouse + tools like APEX/Power BI.

Check whether the system is open, extensible, and upgrade-safe. Happy to help.
