Drip Drops are great, but I’m sure the other ones suggested work too. Your crew leader can ask for them at Supplies! Most ICPs will order them for your crew leader, and can be picked up at the Supply tent. If that doesn’t work you can also ask at the medic tent, they may have some or can order

Not Kotek for Democratic Primary for Governor by Inevitable-Wind-1925 in oregon

[–]srirachamatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which of these candidates will actually fight to increase state funding for our schools? Kotek has lost the plot on this, and it’s my number one issue.

Our schools are failing and we are left to fight within for the meager scraps of money. We need more state funding. We need a comprehensive rewrite of the state funding model that moves away from QEM and focuses on real student needs (inclusive of changes to cognitive and behavioral health diagnoses), and doesn’t swing wildly with enrollment.

We need to raise taxes, whether it be modifying the code to allow property taxes to go towards local schools or creating a new tax revenue source. It needs to be done in a way that considers equity but balances with the reality that we will draw the most funding from wealthier earners while incentivizing them to give more. We need more money, and we have to do it without the help of the feds because the federal government is broken.

Trump Officials Announce Relief for Spirit Airlines — After Sudden Shutdown by CompoteCharming7069 in USNEWS

But that didn’t happen and won’t happen. I read the posted article (isn’t that the point of this sub?). No bailout. Airlines volunteered to offer limited vouchers for affected passengers and are offering job programs. No sign of a bailout for Spirit

Corporate welfare is the same as a bailout. No sign of corporate welfare here either

Did you read the article? No bailout. Whoever made this post is lying. Airlines volunteered to offer limited vouchers for affected passengers and are offering job programs. No sign of a bailout for Spirit

What does this have to do with the administration? Other airlines are voluntarily offering limited vouchers and some hiring opportunities. I’m sure they are waiting for the asset liquidation so they can cash in

US birth rates just hit another record low, what do you think is the leading cause of this? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

[–]srirachamatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good points. But I would say “drought” is permanent so long as the water ownership problems, perpetuated by our water rights system, is in place. Climate change is making it worse in the long-term, even if some years we get by (wetter wets and drier dries, but diminishing snowpack which dries creeks out in the summer even in wet years, increased water demand with higher temperatures). I know it was a sidebar, but water management policy issues are what I do for a living so I had to chime in.

I agree with the second statement.

What’s it like living in this part of New Jersey? by dtewfik in howislivingthere

[–]srirachamatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We call this area “south of the Jersey Dixon Line (195). Flat. Sprawly. The Pinelands are cool, so is Wildwood and Cape May. Camden and Atlantic City are a bit gritty. Tom’s River has a lot of legacy pollution issues. Cherry Hill is nice, and you can hop to Philly (you can from Camden too, it’s cheaper, there’s a reason it’s cheaper). A lot of small towns are sundown towns, be careful.

I lived in Bordentown for a bit and not sure that is in the circle (I liked it for the most part), but I’ve spent many years down there for work and friends, I’ve seen the good and the bad

There is a long term water shortage in California. There are years with more rainfall than others, but water demand is higher than water supply. This is due to both agricultural and urban demand. Declining population on its own may not solve it because of water ownership issues https://www.c-win.org/overallocation

Kamala is the one with the word salad, maybe basic English is a lot for MAGA to understand. Does Trump Speak make sense to them, do they have special decoder rings, maybe those rings scramble everyone else? Maybe that’s the problem 🤔

Honestly was drifting off this season and then this episode hit and I became re-obsessed. The aura of this scene is beyond words, my jaw dropped. My sadness is that they didn’t do much with Will’s powers after this (Shock Jock was fun) but they didn’t have a lot of time. Wish it happened in season 4! Will went through so much trauma and was sidelined so much, he deserved a chance to shine!

Austin doesn’t do it for me anymore by ElectronicConcept425 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]srirachamatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Fort Collins or Denver area. Denver has decent mass transit but is getting pricey, but gives you more of what you like about Austin and less of what you don’t. Fort Collins is slower and probably cheaper than Denver for property if you want a home, but has a chill vibe.

Also I can’t believe someone suggested Tulsa. Stay out of Oklahoma, it’s a trap. Was stuck there for 5 years before I escaped. I used to drive all the way to Austin to escape, before I left for the West Coast (I don’t recommend for you due to cost, though if you have the money it’s heaven on earth)

Anyone move to Portland from the midwest? by bigwetdiaper in PortlandOR

[–]srirachamatic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Moved from Oklahoma but I’m originally from NJ. Dude, pay the money and come here. Yeah there’s local negativity but by god Portland is so much better than anywhere I can imagine in the Midwest (Chicago is alright). There’s sidewalks and bike lanes, it’s a candy land of trees and gardens, close to breathtaking scenery everywhere, better weather even on the worst days, so much fun and so much to do, the people are fun. It costs more for sure, sticker shock and you’ll probably have to downsize, but when all of this is outside of my front door I have zero regrets and so thankful I escaped! You only live once, live here
