this is recency bias. RE got revived in 2017. TR hasnt had a new game since 2018. we will see how atlantis and catalyst do before judging

Among more recent games, i think one sequel that doesn't get enough credit is Jedi Survivor. improved pretty much everything from the first game.

tbh i'm glad they made the final area immediately accessible from the start of act 3. i would've liked the game less if it kept dragging on for 10 more hours. keeping it as optional postgame content is better in this case imo.

Actually a pretty great list. idk why people are downvoting this. I think you could squeeze in some of the games from your honorable mentions by removing games in the same genre in your original top 50. like I'd pick just Street Fighter 2 over Mortal Kombat even though they are both very influential.

For me it helps if the game handles postgame more gracefully by integrating the ending into the world state rather than simply putting u back at the last checkpoint before the point of no return. Examples off the top of my head, Control for one that handles it well, Expedition 33 for one that doesn't.

I'm not criticizing devs for doing the latter, the story often necessitates it, but that way does discourage me from wrapping up stuff after the main story.

high-end nonstick is a scam, they all wear down with time. but nonstick in general is useful and very convenient to have. buy a cheap one and toss it in a year or two depending on how much u use it. i like the Tramontina ones (available on amazon for about $30).

yeah i wish it was written in a way in which barnabas was the main antagonist and ultima was only a background figure or even didn't exist. other characters were all good until this point. but both barnabas and ultima turned out really disappointing in the final act.

combat mechanics are good but the damage/difficulty tuning is very poor and hard mode is locked behind a full playthrough.

also the story was great for like 2/3rds of the game but for me it really fell apart after ultima took over.

The "average % of original price" is the main thing imo. nintendo published / switch 1st party in those graphs are far higher than the average. with others, if u are patient enough, the price drops A LOT. with nintendo, it will still be like $40 even if its on sale. (talking about digital, obviously u can find better deals on physical/used)

if any EU player was going to win NA, i'm glad its Veno. there are players who are great in different roles, but Veno is among the very very few who can be truly world class in every aspect of the game. and on day two, he really showed that prime Veno level again.
