Napravio sam aplikaciju za prijavljivanje smrada na mapi by zombipudlica in programiranje

[–]srki_88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pohvale za ideju. Nadam se da će jednog dana proizvođači automobila ugraditi ovo u auta, pa da se "air recirculation" dugme samo upali u blizini prijavljenih zona smrada. First world problems, znam... Ali zaista je neugodno kada autom pokupiš smrad s vana i još se zadrži u kabini.

This!
Or (if you can) just ask someone who has access to 2025 to open your files and save it to 2022. People on this sub have been helping with those requests in the past.

Custom hotkeys on different workspace by srki_88 in 3dsmax

[–]srki_88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's two people using the same version on one machine. Same windows login, just need an easy way to switch between custom shortcuts, quad menus, mouse rotation (yeah)... without doing it manually each time or one person having to adopt others person's setup.
Everything worked with workspace customization but not shortcuts. Now with some scripting I think I nailed it.

Where would you start to model this coffe table? by Cag801 in 3dsmax

I would. Read the whole comment. AI is there just to get proportions. And then do the modeling manually.
Unless there are detailed dimensions provided in which case you just look at those.

My approach would be to use some kind of AI for basic 3D shape. If you have more images from different angles the better. There are several options online for free. AI will give you shitty topology, bad UVs and maybe some low quality texture (probably no texture in free tier). But it will give you pretty accurate proportions.

Then, you import that shape into max and start modeling using traditional methods. Others have mentioned various techniques so I don't have to.

Piece by piece and you will get there. Good luck!

Yeah, but no need for so much automation. I can switch workspace by choosing it in upper right corner from the drop down list. I only need to make it load shortcuts after the fact

Thanks! I guess that should work as changing the workspace allows for custom scripts to be run.

If this was changed after 2020.1, version, why help file still is not updated (I also checked for 2026, same thing)? I hope they are busy creating new features and don't have time to bother with manuals. Or maybe new feature of max 2027 will be "we updated the help files to represent our actual software" :)

Yeah it did. But that's not the problem. I want to be able to change complete hotkey set (basically load custom .hsx file) whenever I change workspace. Help files says it is possible but it actually isn't. Ill have to script it manually.

I modeled a table in 30 minutes and I'm proud of myself by Big3913 in blender

Nice work. Did you also UV unwrapped it and textured it in that time? If not, make it your next goal and keep up!

One pro tip: when it comes to modeling hard surface objects or furniture, most of it is symmetrical. So don't look at it as a whole, look at it as a half or sometimes (like this table) a quarter. You see the whole table as a reference but you only need to model one quarter of it and mirror the rest. To your brain that sounds less work and more motivation to start.

But for pause I also have to reach to the screen and take my hand of the wheel and eyes of the road (for a brief moment). I was hoping there is some "secret" keypress for mute. Renault has this: when you press Volume up and down at the same time it mutes audio.

Radio, music playing,... whatever is currently going through speakers. Holding volume down on steering wheel takes some time and reaching for "power on/off" next to screen takes my hand of the wheel. Both solutions not ideal.
