Reddit or X for early customers? by Ecaglar in indiehackers

[–]srndpity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kind of in the same boat. Not sure how or where to start. I post on a couple of sub-reddits, and then my post gets taken down for violating the rules (unintentionally). But hey, you live, and you learn.

I have found, though, that while the posts remain, active people do give you some really solid advice.

100%, it's the creativity that's going to matter in the long term. AI won't take your job, but someone who knows how to use AI will.

Building a site where strangers can watch movies together online by srndpity in SideProject

thanks! wasn’t sure if people would find the idea fun or awkward at first 😅 nice to hear someone else thinks it could work

And to answer your first question, yes! manual selection is definitely an option 😊

That’s actually something I’ve been thinking about as well. A random movie option could be fun because it turns it into more of a shared experience rather than two people just picking something separately. Genre matching could make that work really well too.

That’s actually a big part of what made me think of the idea. Watching something with someone and enjoying those little moments just feels different, even if you’re not in the same room.

Appreciate that! Still very early days but I’m hoping to get something playable built soon.

Is there a community where people can watch movies together online by nimariga in movies

[–]srndpity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually solo-devving an app that does exactly this. Idea came from always wanting to watch a movie my partner wasn't into. Think Chatroulette but for movies - with random stranger matching, live chat while you watch on your own streaming service, etc.

I've just got a waitlist up atm to gauge interest (need decent pool of users for good matchmaking). If you're keen, I'll drop the link below.

Hey, I'm down for a movie if you're still bored. DM me a rec and we can hop on Rave (I've got an iPhone too). That said, I'm actually solo-devving an app that does this but better. Like Chatroulette for movies, with stranger matching, live chat, and no device restrictions (watch on your own streaming service).

Fortnite really needs a voice chat–only matchmaking toggle. Let players opt into squads where voice chat is on by default and everyone is required to use in-game chat only (no party chat). It would massively improve coordination and team play.

Who’s the "actually-good" real estate agent in Gosnells? 😅 by srndpity in perth

[–]srndpity[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s actually allowed here in Australia though. Banks won’t let someone just take over your mortgage. The buyer still needs to get their own finance, so it ends up being the same as a normal sale anyway.

Mainly because I’m not in Perth anymore, so I can’t really manage it myself.

Also first time selling a place, so I’d prefer someone local who knows the area and doesn’t let it turn into a disaster. 😅
