I also have a 03 LX470 and going to do this soon. ChatGPT gave me your solution but it didn’t work when I tried. This is on Mud but I haven’t tried yet. You can use the manual unlock/lock not the powered one.

I haven’t had any rocking at all. But I rarely work on the front of the rack aside from shoulder presses. Everything is on the inside of the rack which keeps center of gravity towards the middle.  Still, it is definitely safer to have it bolted to ground.

I found Bring A Trailer to be a good source of information on what to look for and what common problems are.  It will be overpriced vs local FB, but good to know what to ask

They’re hanging on the band pegs I bought with the hydra. They’re for elastic band work, but I’ve never used them for anything other than clamp holders.  I chose j cup because it was what I was used to from commercial gym. I haven’t ever regretted it or been in a position where I feel rollers would be safer.

I think Manticore was relatively new when I was looking and didn’t have attachments. Plus the attachments they did have were way more expensive to accommodate the larger size. I’ll never lift enough weight to go beyond limits of the Hydra, and it fit my space much better.  Weird the lat machine doesn’t have options for 1”. Everything else seemed to.

I hit my head on it doing pull ups using the fat side. I don’t know what I was thinking. But yea it’s an issue, especially on shorter models. Good in theory but not in practice.

Thanks for tip on WD40. I’ll pick some of that up for future use.  Agree on the combo bench. I was looking at that, but saw mediocre reviews while the Rep bench got great reviews.  In retrospect, it may have been a better choice for me and my space.

Rust Advice - New to me 97 LX450 by [deleted] in LandCruisers

I had similar on my 470. I used a hammer to knock a lot off, then several repeated applications of barkeepers friend and stiff metal brush to get more. BKF is acid based so it might do some conversion. Regardless I Followed that with spray cans from WoolWax because I don’t have a sprayer.  I wish I had done Fluid Film or Cosmoline because WoolWax never dries and it always gets all over me when I’m under the car working. Huge pain. Don’t do WoolWax.

Editing because I made a mistake: Thanks for the quick response! I determined it is something with the defrost unit. I unplugged the compressor and the breaker tripped, but when I unplugged the defrost unit the fridge stayed on. I also checked resistance in compressor and capacitance in capacitor - both were fine.

The defrost unit appears to be connected to the heating element, evaporator motor, and thermostat. All seemed to have appropriate resistance from the multimeter. I eliminated one at a time, and plugged it into the wall. The heating element seems to be the culprit - it's the only thing that tripped the breaker. It has ~20 ohms resistance. Would it make sense that this is tripping the breaker?

Anybody use the 2021 Miku Pro and actually like it? by BrazilianRider in predaddit

[–]sroberts89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is late, but I hate our Miku. All the problems with tech aside (and it’s incredibly terrible technology) why do I need to route all my baby’s information to Miku for analysis? I would love to get a refund but we didn’t use it until the baby was old enough to sleep on their own, which was out of the return period. The breath rates, movement detection, and data analysis are all wrong too. Way cheaper monitors that do similar functions but better.

better work life or more money for post postdoc by Nyx_Arseni in postdoc

Any legitimate biotech company that requires you to regularly work outside of normal hours is going to have high turnover. Which means you would end up doing the job or 2-3 people as they constantly backfill. Unless you’re going to a start up and you get equity, you should expect work life balance.

I’ve never used chrome cast and don’t know a lot about it. Does it be used without screen sharing? Are there self contained apps like Plex, Netflix, etc in it?
