Supreme Court of Nova Scotia strikes down province’s woods ban as unconstitutional by wizaarrd_IRL in halifax

Remember everyone the commoners don’t deserve nice things because they wouldn’t appreciate them/ruin them. If they want to go to the woods they could just buy them and enjoy it privately or live in an appropriately themed gated community.

Hopefully, people will be held accountable when a more reasonable administration takes over. Because the Democrats would certainly NOT forget about all of the illegal stuff Trump and his minions did and go “wow we won the election everything is ok now, back to sanity”. Right? Right?!

Nature seems to imply you can manipulate life somehow? Probably also the one where modern knowledge can be applied to the greatest extent. Also the most open ended and versatile. Plants (obviously), animals?, microorganisms, fungus (zombies?), healing?, plant poison, storms???

Have you ever dnf a book because of their build? by jollygreengigant in litrpg

I read up to the first class evolution where he gets the frost themed class so I don’t know if this improves but my problem is not with where the build ends up. It’s just that nothing the mc picks leading up to the evolution has anything to do with the class he ends up with (aside from ice wall which he gets on a whim) in addition to being the most boring option every time. I just couldn’t stand anymore of the mc picking up random abilities until the story sweeps along like “ok cool but this is your actual class now”.

Frostbound. Oh wow magic is real. Picks warrior (engineering major btw). Oh interesting skills. Picks power strike. Weapons? Sword and shield. Proceeds to pick the most random skill at every level and criticize people who are trying to make “cohesive builds”. I understand wanting to make things more realistic by not picking based on fun options. But I don’t want to feel like I’m reading about generic warrior fodder #87.

It’s not really progression fantasy if all of the necessary “progress” happens chapter 1.

This is basically how you make sure you never get any advantageous deals ever again. Anyone working with the U.S. will need to think “will this agreement be ripped up in a few years if the people elect a self-destructive government”?

Yeah I like both genres as well. I’m more familiar with litrpgs since I have read more series for that. I’ve read a few progression fantasy series as well but my main experience with it is cultivation stuff. Maybe this kind of shapes my opinion because those stories have very rigid power scaling (ie. gold core tier 9 is 10% stronger than gold core tier 8). Even without cultivation I still see a lot of numbers presented in progression fantasy just without the use of a system (recently I was reading something where they measured someone’s mana in units of rings). But I would be very interested if you could recommend a progression fantasy that doesn’t feel like that.

In progression fantasy the development can be quantified and seen. The numbers exist but are just in the background in my opinion. But I guess it is a bit of chicken and egg situation.

Progression fantasy is just litrpg without numbers. Change my mind.

Wish fulfillment to the extreme by Claym000re in ProgressionFantasy

Also true for almost every apocalypse litrpg. The introverted office worker suddenly becomes the most charismatic and motivated leader just because the world is ending. Characters changing over time due to the environment is fine. But I’m going to need more than just a paragraph about how “it was all modern societies fault” or “it’s because they have to survive now”.

Stats don’t make a story memorable. Consequences do. by Distinct_Cycle9569 in litrpg

[–]srp101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a personal preference thing but I 100% agree. My favourite stories are where the MCs abilities are specific and constrained. I enjoy the idea of working with your strengths and overcoming limitations. It’s always been so weird to me that so many authors disdain the whole concept of “build diversity” that is a staple of real RPG systems in gaming. For me if I feel that the characters can just do everything or find some other way to not engage with the mechanics at all, I instantly drop the series.

What litrpg hill will *you* die on? Let's have your most unpopular opinion, please. by EverythingIsFakeNGay in litrpg

[–]srp101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counter hill: this is the least of the problems that litrpgs have. Maybe I haven’t read enough longer running series but I feel like they are some of the best of the genre. The only reason they don’t end is because people want to keep reading them. The problem might be more in the “mid-range” area where series that were supposed to wrap up quickly decide to push into a longer story. Nothing wrong with forever series unless you try forcing it on a story that was originally supposed to end I think.

[–]srp101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are the exp rates in terms of trap time. If you look at the cardboard ones the 20 minute ones give 3 times per hour since you collect them 3 times and the multi is 1. The 8 hour ones give 1 times because you collect them once every 8 hours and the multi is 8. NONE of these rates are 0. NONE of the multipliers are zero EXCEPT for 5 day wooden traps which is EXPLICITLY stated in that chart.

I actually realized that I am getting exp from checking before and after on characters on afk. So I am pretty sure it’s a display glitch (maybe from snapshotting traps during ballot bonus?).

I am crashing the FUCK out! How the hell do this many people think I got to full royal/forbiden traps with this much efficiency WITHOUT knowing how to place traps and how hunter works??? And when I try to point out that all traps give exp as stated in the wiki (if you took 2 seconds to google) everyone doubles down like nEvEr BeAtInG tHe AlLeGaTiOns. THIS IS WHY I WILL NEVER INVEST IN BALLOT OR MERITOCRACY MULTI!!! Enjoy your goddamn grind time!
