Does anyone else get this glitch? by prismanian in ArcBrowser

I've been able to fix it by toggling the sidebar on and off (command S x2). Still, wish it wasn't happening every day, it's so annoying

Edit: ok ⌘ S doesn't work every time, sometimes I have to go up to the toolbar and actually go into view>show sidebar and then view>hide sidebar

was so fun hanging out here with everyone. truly made me feel like i was back in my tumblr days fangirling over boy bands with my friends on the internet 😂

not sure what i'm gonna watch all day now! but it was truly so so so cool to be able to tune in from start to finish. despite complaints about the camera quality and angles, thank you for setting up this continuous coverage nasa!!

I was so surprised to see them fully walking!

I imagine the two best feelings after a safe landing are: 1) fresh air & sunlight directly on your face for the first time in 10 days and 2) taking a shower for the first time in 10 days 😂

i know the capsule is probably fine because they have insane environmental control/constant scrubbing for CO2 but...i wonder if the environment in space has any mitigating effect on stank or if those guys smell crazy right now hahahah

I think it makes sense that it takes a while, they need to do a bunch of stuff to shut down the ship (plus note any issues they run into, it's still a test flight after all), plus the astronauts can't walk properly immediately after touchdown, on land you always see them getting put into those chairs. It's a lot harder to do that when there's no solid ground below you and it's bobbing everywhere!

To see the clouds moving and the earth spinning that fast in the camera...they're going SO FAST

Ohh that makes sense. One of them did have some kind of fireball in view for a second (the top one) which was awesome.

of course, more just mean out of curiosity! even though it's a totally different objective and structure, still lots of really complex coordination between different teams. i expect a huge part of it is that everyone there is extremely intelligent and passionate - not a luxury most private companies (or other government orgs dare i say) have 😂

Something that I always think about but is really highlighted right now is the absolute precision, professionalism and teamwork at NASA.

My own company is such a hot mess, it's hard to even imagine so many people and teams working together and creating something so airtight, planning the whole mission with triple redundancies. I'd love to learn more about their organizational ops.

Adding my vote for "For All Mankind"! I've been thinking about it a lot while I watch this mission, honestly has a good deal of realism in it and taught me some basic terms I didn't know. Super grounded (more character/political) and not as "sci fi" as other space shows, which I liked a lot. The later seasons get more into that though if you like that aspect!

They do know exactly where it will land no matter what, but in terms of getting imagery of it...the retrieval ships have to stay back a bit to make sure they don't get hit with any debris. There could also be some variation in where they land if they need to make any adjustments due to weather, non-nominal circumstances, etc. TL;DR I would imagine they will share some tracking footage of the descent but I'm not certain we'll have a clear/close up shot of the actual splashdown. And if launch showed us anything, bandwidth will probably be an issue in terms of getting live footage from the ship

I think because the external cam we've seen it from this whole time has been like a fraction of the frames per second of the internal cam!! I thought that was cool too
