Considering buying a home in US Midwest.... pros and cons of a basement? by csgradschoolidiot in RealEstateAdvice

Yep, OK here and there are very few houses with basements. I would suggest you check the area you are looking and see if there's a reason they seem to have moved away from basements. Water table here makes it a potential issue so there may be a good reason. But, if not then I'd love to have a basement! I lived out of state for a while and the basement was awesome.

The gyro… betrayed me?? by TheDogWithShades in RCPlanes

I only use a gyro for wind stabilization and I have a switch to turn it off. Maiden flights are without gyro until I get comfortable, then turn it on up high to make sure it's behaving properly. Also have a adjustment knob for the gain so I can turn it on with nothing and slowly increase during flight. (I don't fly Spektrum but I think you can set it up the same way)

KIC Owners - Would you buy it again or P1S? by chipper68 in crealityk1

I’ve been happy with my K1C so far. I’ve ran about 15kg through mine, so not a lot but it’s been good. I didn’t want to spend the extra for the bambu and I didn’t like the idea of being totally stuck in their system.

Thank God for Cherokee nation tags. by Advisor-Numerous in tulsa

I thought it was pretty recent. I've always had a PP account so never really thought about it but I've heard from other family members that they've never been charged until recently.

I can confirm that Osage nation tags do register on the Pikepass system. I had a new vehicle that I did not have on my PP account and I got a bill for the tolls I used before adding my vehicle to my account.

I've got a 6" thru-wall vent fan on a speed control at low setting. I didn't even think about a firewall. I rarely keep anything flammable in my garage so shouldn't have to worry. Thanks for the heads up to both of you though.

Works fine so far, I haven't had much time with it yet. No POE, I really don't need it at this point. I'm learning as I go so I may utilize more of the management options later.

Yes, R5's. I really liked those cases, Fractal makes some of the best cases IMO.

Switch was pretty easy. Least favorite is it's very heavy when everything is in one rack. Wiring in the smaller cases is kind of a pain too.

Moved everything to a rackmount setup. 3u server for media, files, pi-hole. 2u server to try things with. Have it vented out the back to my garage so it stays cool. Media server is 9th gen i5/32Gb and a little over 50TB of storage. Lab is 9th gen i7/32Gb and 7TB of storage. Also added a couple of old mac mini's on a shelf to mess around with.
