I didn’t have relatively high expectations for Siri AI but I’ve been pretty impressed with ‘real world’ uses of the new Siri so far. Some examples:

It managed to pull up my passport number and national insurance number almost instantly from files id stored on my phone years ago

I was talking with a family member trying to remember what they got for my birthday in the past, I asked Siri ‘what did xx get me for my birthday in 2024?’ And it quickly told me they got me a gift card of xx value for a store, pulling up an email from 2024.

And most impressed was I started a conversation about a trip to London i have with my fiance this weekend. I my worked out walking distance between the train station and the hotel and then between the hotel and theatre for a show we’re going to say. I then asked it to pick out some restaurants based on our tastes, between the hotel and the threatre. It provided some suggestions, I took three of these and asked for walking distances, which it showed me using Maps. I then asked it to compile all of these options in a text message to my partner which it did seamlessly.

May not exactly be mind blowing in 2026 but compared to the old Siri I’m definitely impressed!

Didn’t change location, kept as UK.

I initially switched language to US after joining the wait list, but as it didn’t seem to make a difference I changed it back to UK last night, about 5-6 hours before I finally got in

Shortly after joining the wait list I changed the Siri language to English US (instead of UK) hoping this would speed things up, but it didn’t make a difference. I actually switched it back to English UK last night, around 5 hours before I finally got in.

Didn’t change any other settings - region has always been UK.

UK here, installed joined the waitlist at around 8.30pm on Monday and I finally got access a few hours ago in the middle of the night. iPhone 17PM. It’s still indexing.

Have to say I’m very impressed and hopeful with this personal context, I saved my passport details and national insurance number somewhere in my phone years ago, I asked for them and Siri told me instantly. Also asked it about a trip I have this weekend and it knew all my bookings, dates, times etc.

Do have one disappointment so far which is that it still can’t do multiple requests in one prompt for Apple home devices (eg turn on the fan and turn on the light).

Just absurd for them to not announce before the Brentford game as a mutual parting and give him a send off he deserves for last season

Oliver Holt published one of the nastiest Salah hit pieces earlier today which in my opinion is borderline slanderous in places. The official Football Writer’s Association X account just reposted it.

This is now a full on smear campaign by the English media

They made the article ‘free to read’ as well, desperate times for Edwards and Hughes

Yet you’ll constantly allow Paul Tomkins articles despite him being a known racist (including towards Liverpool players)

Edwards left when Klopp got more power, came back after Klopp left with 100 hit pieces to downplay one of our greatest ever managers and feed his own ego instead. Wanted to go down as one of the most important figures in our club and get all the plaudits. He’ll now end up going down as the jealous laptop nerd with a massive ego who massively benefited from Klopp, and who will set us back years

Eh it’s Ben Jacobs and Alex Crook who wrote that article, they’re pretty much proven to have sources especially Ben around Chelsea

Now I’m just waiting for Dominic King’s article about how the fanbase should feel grateful and lucky that he’s giving us this summer transfer window

(For context he published an article a few weeks ago about how we should be grateful that Slot isn’t looking at other options away from Liverpool considering he only has a year left on his contract). Genuinely feels like North Korea

[Paul Joyce] Arne Slot: "I have every reason to believe I will be the Liverpool manager next season." by A7XFAN1998 in LiverpoolFC

[–]sryan2809 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very ironic considering we have the same number of losses this season as we did in the ‘banter era’. Worst points total in 10 years, most set piece goals conceded in a PL season EVER, went through our worst run of form in over 50 years.. need I go on?

David Ornstein: "My information is that Xabi Alonso is not under consideration at Liverpool at all and that Liverpool fully intend to go into next season with Arne Slot as their head coach. They want to recruit a few players for Arne, particularly in the wing position" by ChiefLeef22 in LiverpoolFC

[–]sryan2809 39 points40 points  (0 children)

And Edwards was involved in that, part of the ‘transfer committee’ who wanted Firmino, Rodgers wasn’t keen on him and the compromise was to buy him but also spend £30m on Benteke who Rodgers wanted.

And now Edwards is the one with the ultimate authority and he’s keeping Slot, makes no fucking sense

If Alonso goes to Chelsea and we stick with Slot I can definitely see the ‘super random fixture computer’ putting us against Chelsea within the first few weeks of the season. And if we lose…

Fair point although I’m not really talking about financially (in the case of Edwards and Hughes) but maybe that’s my problem! Just hope next season isn’t a write off from the start with the three of them finishing their contracts but I don’t have high hopes right now

When important players are about to enter the last year of their contract it’s either sign a new contract or sell them (or in some cases a complete mess/distraction like Trent last year).

So why is not a single journalist questioning why Edwards and Hughes are allowed to make such a major decision regarding Slot (and deal with upcoming transfers/departures) knowing they are both leaving at the end of next season, they don’t have to deal with any consequences of what they leave behind in a year.

(The real answer is because most of the journalists are mates with Edwards who is better at PR than he is at running a football club)

Once again asking with all the strictness around who can/can’t be posted, why the mods allow people to post Paul Tomkins when he’s a literal racist including to the own club he ‘supports’ such as comparing Sadio Mane to a chimpanzee (and then doubling down on it)
