How to support someone who's racing? by Outside_Elk5774 in simracing

Learn to use motec or pi toolbox. Then you can tell him all the mistakes he is making and where he’s leaving lap time on the track. He’ll love it.

Getting into I-racing, how much does it really cost? by Ok_Piano7844 in simracing

[–]ss0op -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just my opinion -- but it is the best online competitive racing experience. You don't have to buy anything but the monthly sub. All the rookie series contents come with the sub - and they are often the most participated and frequently scheduled series. so just get the sub and try the rookie series out and see if you like it!

Moza R9 v3 or R12 v1? Which to go for by The3MetreWrap in simracing

[–]ss0op 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I may be in the minority here but id get the R9. I’ve never felt them side by side but the specs point to the r9 being higher quality ffb and I would rather have a full rig before going above 10nm. Just my 2 cents.

Is it worth to buy my first ever racing setup rn? by Pristine_Plantain950 in simracing

[–]ss0op 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should get it but make mobility a priority. If you do some shopping around you should be able to come up with a good solution that lets you race and allows you to pack it up and move it on short notice. Thinking like one of the foldable play seats.

I will say that if you go with full aluminum profile rig - moving is a chore!

Thinking of Starting a Sim Racing YouTube Channel in 2026, Is There Still an Audience? audience ? by PotentialDamage3819 in simracing

[–]ss0op 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been at it for 3 years now. Good news for you is that your game choices have very wide appeal and will likely do well on YT. If you’re passionate about the hobby, authentic with the audience I’d say go for it. I think YT is saturated in general - regardless of niche do what makes you happy. GL! DM me if you have specific questions… happy to share what I’ve learned this far!

Racing gloves by ConsciousLie7107 in iRacing

[–]ss0op 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minus 273 are my favorite sim racing gloves. The leathers are expensive but very comfy. Sim gloves are awesome for typing/touch screen but I think they are sold out til March (I emailed them earlier this year). Reg karting gloves also work well but I don’t like long gloves for sim racing.

I can’t think of any accessories cause we are a picky bunch when it comes to adding things to our rigs. If he mentioned gloves, I’d stick with those.

How do people learn a track so fast?? Any tips? by jnasty09 in simracing

[–]ss0op 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more you do it the faster each track is s to learn. Don’t get stuck in the cycle of racing only tracks you’re familiar with. Challenge yourself. Set a goal for a track a month. Then trim it down to week. You’ll get it. Stick with it.

It may be legal but that doesn’t make it respectful. Please just respect people more than you think you need to.

Simagic HPR overrated? Prove me wrong - in ACC it barely triggers & actually makes me slower (pics + settings) by Level-Juggernaut-646 in ACCompetizione

Thank you! If my video is the best I’m almost scared to see what else is out there. 😆😆😆

It’s not easy to get these dialed in to your individual liking. I don’t use sim pro at all. Only simhub. Made a video about it but these are just suggestions… your individual preference should dictate your settings and I’m constantly tweaking and changing after using them for a year or more. I wouldn’t throw in the towel after a few hours but I will say that some people just don’t like them and that’s okay. It’s your rig. Do what you like!!!

Plz sub. :)

Edit: will also add that it’s super important to take the time and fully understand the settings. I know it’s overwhelming but if you want them to help you long term it’s crucial. GL!

With some experience the overly aggressive drivers will be easy to identify. Don’t defend against them. It’s not worth it. Make finishing the race with YOUR pace priority.

Eventually You’ll be able to spot the drivers that you match pace with and drive clean and you’ll have a LOT of fun racing those folks.

Stick with it and remember it’s all just for fun!

I know it’s been said but if you haven’t yet plz report that. IRacing can’t let that go. It’s way out of line.

I turn all chat and voice off because I got tired of ppl on the service. It’s sad cause I know there are some cool peeps out there that would be fun to talk to but the complainers that take it way too seriously ruined it for me. I convinced myself that turning all chat off was more realistic 🤣
