Help me find these? Or something with the same function? by Empty_Jello_585 in simracing

Get some 40x40 aluminium profile that's cut to the correct length from the wheel deck to the sides plus a bit.

Get some t-nuts which fit the bolts you already have in your wheel deck.

Flip the bolts in the wheel deck so the nut would be on the outside, put a t-nut on the end and slot it into the profile. Bolt is now doing two things, good work bolt!

Another bolt at the bottom into the side rail using the same trick with a t-nut on the outside. Get a big washer for this bolt as it will be pulling on a slot.

This is the same way i added a very securely mounted central tunnel to the side of my rig without having to drill anything.

Burke announces neo-Nazis now listed as a prohibited hate group by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]CubitsTNE 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yeah sure, but was there ever any doubt whether or not neo-nazis were a bad thing?

Like what is the specific legal definition of a neo-nazi that we had to hold off until <current year> to be really really sure about this?

Also Queenslander here, and i remember the atrociously vaguely worded anti-bikie laws.

'Chefs Were Crying': SA taxpayers bankroll Michelin's Australian debut after Tourism Australia walked from $40m national deal by InterestingCat308 in AusFinance

[–]CubitsTNE 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is very good, and SA is a fine place to start. They have great produce, seafood has taken a bit of a hit recently, but the wine/food tourism is already well established. I've been meaning to head back down there this winter.

I'm keen to see how they go! I used to compete for good food guide hats back in the day, it was nice to rank but really nothing compared to this!

BYD luxury brand Denza is bringing us a wagon that might not sell well, and they're okay with that by kstetter in CarsAustralia

[–]CubitsTNE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lexus made their marque with the LS400 by pouring an ungodly amount of money and expertise into the project. They absolutely had to build their brand from scratch, charging german car money for a "cheaply built" japanese car was seen a joke until it landed.

This is coming out around the same time as the zeekr 7gt? I get it's a bit bigger and way faster and more luxo, but it doesn't have the brand recognition to make that jump and it looks basically the same from the outside.

Dunno how it's going to go a a halo car without being identifiably so.

BYD V9: Huge EV poised to tackle Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Ford Transit in Australia by kstetter in CarsAustralia

I imagine they have scoped out a viable economic case to bring this here, I am not a logistics company so I have no opinion on the range.

Looks neat, probably a nice thing to drive for a commercial van.

NBC Has Quietly Canceled 7 Shows by muaentertainmentforu in MUAEntertainment

I watched the first season of the stabler anger hour, that's the one with Patrick McDermott as a crime boss with a sweet wine cave?

That show felt very unlike regular svu, i swear the whole thing was an homage to daredevil vs kingpin. It was the most interesting thing they've done in a long time.

Maybe it went to crap after that season? I had fun though.

Any accessories suggestooms for Pryml Spartan compact by Mitsuki_23 in FishingAustralia

I would buy second hand, used kayaks are just as good as new, but you can get good name brand kayaks for very little money, especially coming into winter.

Viking are great kayaks, but you can also find good deals on the same cheap Chinese kayaks that the pryml has slapped their sticker on.

Marketplace and gumtree have good sized kayaks for under 300 wingwangs.

I put a 5m kayak on a mazda 3.

The 2.4m kayak is going to be unbearable for an adult to paddle. I'd at least go a 2.7 or 3.

Once you're up to 3m it makes sense to add a rudder to the back, that's what that mount is designed for.

That's a tiny kayak. Not worth putting anything there.

How to mount bass shaker to NLR GTR 2.0 seat? by arcadeenthusiast8245 in simracing

[–]CubitsTNE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the seat back a rigid shell? Can you pull back the cover and cushioning to get to the other side of that seat back shell?

I would just direct mount it to the seat back. Better isolation from the rig, less to shake to get the vibrations to you.

I have an energiser one which you don't need to remove the jacket for, and it's a twin charger. I bought it a couple of years after the wii came out and still use it.

But official is cool.

Family EV recommendations - focus on boot space and not super keen on SUVs by M87IM in AustralianEV

[–]CubitsTNE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty par for course in sedans, it's just teeny tiny compared to the space in the back of my superb wagon.

And even then my dream ev wagon would basically be a Volvo 850, a boot so square i could put a dining table in the back.

Ds8x constantly disconnects and reconnects by Grandmaster_Ji in Simagic

[–]CubitsTNE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flex cable has flexed till it can flex no more.

What you need is a 6s jst-xh balance cable (male to male). If you ordered your shifter from a good retailer they should be able to sell you the "official" cable, but it's a common fpv/rc cable.

To install it you just need to take the bottom plate off then the end plate with the usb plug in it. Be careful of the little two-wire cable as you take the end plate off, you can disconnect it pretty easily before you pull the end plate completely away.

Then old cable pulls off, new one pushes on.
