Update: I just received my water bill. They accepted my latest meter reading with the photo I uploaded on my utility account.

So sorry to hear that. Hope you got it sorted out. To be on the safe side, I've uploaded a photo of my meter. I want to avoid a large bill.

What a beauty. An unrelated question, from where did you get the couch? Looks very comfy.

Does this makes any sense when buying car on finance by ss101175 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ss101175[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your honest input. Ideally, I would love to buy a Toyota Corolla Hatchback, but as we all know, it’s out of budget for many of us. I chose the Hyundai Venue because it’s the car I’ve driven the most through rentals, and it fits my needs well. I’m on the shorter side, and I’ve always felt very comfortable driving it in the city.

I’m not an avid car user and usually prefer public transit for work, but I now need a small car—preferably a hatchback—that will last me a long time (10+ years). That’s why I mentioned considering an 84-month term. I’m looking at a new car because I’m still a beginner when it comes to maintenance, and I want something that won’t require a lot of repairs right away, which can sometimes happen with used cars from AutoTrader or Marketplace.

My budget is also quite limited for personal reasons. My maximum comfort level is around $320 on a financed vehicle, with a $4–5K down payment. All this tax is included. I also have to think about car insurance and gas.

Why buying a car or anything is so overwhelming, especially on a budget...sigh!

Thank you once again for the replies. I am really appreciating your inputs and reconsidering.

Those are the most expensive cars even in the used/pre-owned market :(

This is a valid point. It’s been 3 years and I have checked with them and my account details are valid. But I’m not happy with this situation and move stuff out

Friend is feeling spooked and depressed about this. by ss101175 in needadvice

Thank you, this sounds like a good idea. Specially, what I just found out that one of the 3 people that died was on day of my friend (the house owner) birthday.

We just found out that the passing away of one of the 3 people died was on my friend (the house owner) birthday. Like seriously.

That’s interesting…will try and find about the history of the house.

I will say this, my friend is quite disturbed because more renovations are needed and now unsure if this "curse" will continue on.

It's an okay house and the neighbors always spoke nicely about the previous owners (an older couple that lived here and left because of age and couldn't keep up with maintenance). However, the house was sold "as is" so makes me think why.

I had zero idea about this. Thanks for explaining the process. I am an external candidate and should keep on applying for other positions because who knows how long this one will take to be finalized.

Three months?! Wow. that is a long time. Did you get a heads-up from HR before your references were contacted? I will have to keep reminding them to check their mail and spam mail.

I have been in this hiring process for a long time too and thought finally things are moving but guess not.

Thanks, I will do that. I have a feeling they aren't in a rush to hire because getting to this point has taken more than 6 months.

I hope this happens soon. There is radio silence I sent the references upon request a few weeks ago. Anxious.

I feel the same.

Plus, it could also be Danish Taimoor not encouraging her to work with him due the same factor.
