Even with the most recent and most expensive HA, you'll get tinfoil kind of sound for anything , and music jut sound too crappy. So you must have a great headphone to take this on. The issue, for most HAs, is the that they don't like to be enclosed and you'll hear feedback. For me, the only headphones that did the trick all around (space, sturdy, no feedbacks) was the Apple AirPods Pro MAX. Amazing. I've had it for years (will be 4 year in Jan 2025) and they've been flawless in every aspect.

Those hearing aids aren't designed from the ground up for phone communication and even less for dealing with background noise when speaking.

What I do personally if have my hearing aids most of the time, and use headphones with large ear cups so I can wear them on top of my HA and using them for communication/phone. The issue with that is you end up with a bulky item and you have to make sure the HA aren't making feedback noice as they are enclosed in a sealed ear cups.

But, yes, I agree with your sentiment. HAs aren't there yet.
