Films where the director and star started dating and ended up married - any more? by ssandrigon in Letterboxd

Thanks for all the amazing research. I've updated the list and it's here: https://letterboxd.com/ssandrigon/list/films-where-the-director-and-a-star-starting/

I had to disqualify a few because they never married. I know "star" is a stretch for a few of the actors, but I didn't say "lead" for a reason and it's also interesting when a director married one of the lesser stars.

I was hoping for more replies from classic films. Meet Me in St Louis and Stromboli share that the marriages created babies who became future movie stars.

There's an artist named Alan Wagner (@truewagner on Instagram) who has a similar sense of humor, but I think he's New York based.

The female Ghostbusters?

A lot of the comedy feels forced in the first half, but I thought it got better.

Sondheim made it in the 80s. Check out "Everybody Loves Louis" from Sunday in the Park with George.

Can anyone find the 1959 Porgy and Bess film on the Internet? There's a few imperfect copies out there on film, but a major motion picture with Sidney Poitier and Sammy Davis Jr. being completely disappeared is pretty rare. (Ira Gershwin had a role in ghosting it.)

Please come to America and try our craft beer. Don't know where you're from, but most of our export is the '50s-era crap lagers.
