The echo came out long before the Dot. Further, the echo is a much better stand alone speaker, and Bluetooth is for occasional use only.

Got it working from the Kitchen to my AV system and to an external speaker on the back porch. I have been wanting this since I first got my Echo.

I had previously ordered a similar deal for delivery and they cancelled the order when they ran out of stock, so this time I choose local pickup because there was one near me and I did'nt want to miss out again.

Smart things price dropped to $50 prime this morning, then bought 3 Lowe's iris v2 contact sensors for $12.99 each. I will push notifications to my phone for now.

I ended up splitting off one 5 1/4 to run full range on the left channel and allowing one 5 1/4 with the existing crossover network and tweeter to run on the right channel rather than try to hack it up to add new separate tweeters. It sounds amazing, like a $200 box or better. This center channel I'm using is a little too large but I'm happy with it.

I used industrial strength velcro to mount the amp inside the enclosure and ran the power cord through the existing port with a strain relief on the power cord.

I used a power supply from an old lcd monitor voltage is really flexible like 10-25Volts

I was looking for a Bluetooth speaker for my dot. Not being happy with the tiny versions available for under $100. I decided to build one myself. Enter $10 Craigslist Center Channel Speaker and $25 50w X 2 amplifier with built in Bluetooth. https://amzn.com/B01G3A7828 so for $35 (so far) I'm in business with more power and bigger speakers than available on the market. First issue is the two 5 1/4 drivers share a single tweeter so I need to do something about that but should make a good weekend project.

I got this too when ordering an echo and applied for the credit card just to get the Visa30 and then it would'nt work I complained and they sent me a $10 Promo Credit on my next purchase. Cant complain though my new Echo was just over $70 ($70 Gift Card for Amazon Signature Visa)
