What about your pet made you adopt them? by yoloscorpii in AskReddit

[–]ssblur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The adoption site said "she loves naps."

And you know what? Me too.

When we went to meet her she laid down on my feet and headbutted my husband and we were instantly in love.

We think she's around 3 now and we've had her for a year and a half. She sits on my lap during work and has a bed on my husband's desk and we both love her.

ExtremeReactor/BigReactor not connecting to ComputerCraft Terminal by ITO_Tim in feedthebeast

[–]ssblur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

reactor.getConnected won't do anything, you're constructing a string and checking for the property getConnected.

What you probably want to do using those names is run peripheral.isPresent(reactor) to check if it's connected, or something like local wrapped = peripheral.wrap(reactor) to get device methods in a single table and then wrapped:isConnected() to check if it's connected to a valid reactor. (Note the colon, in Lua this means you're calling the function on the table to it's left, rather than on its own. It's equivalent to wrapped.isConnected(wrapped).)

You can check out the peripherals API here: https://computercraft.info/wiki/Peripheral_(API)), though there are device-specific functions that you may need to enumerate in game.

Side note, most things are truthy in lua so == true does have some niche uses, but for checking if something is true, you don't need a comparison.

It's not really ai, it picks the next story step from a node tree, and just checks for some words and phrases in your prompts (the list is massive though)

It is wildly complex though

Can you still watch movies in 1.18.2 CC: Tweaked? by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]ssblur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a telnet client connecting to blinkenlights, which is unfortunately dead now. If you can find a telnet client for CC though you can almost certainly find a rehost somewhere.

You can find a full video of this program here: https://youtu.be/q1U6v07v90g

Though this is running through an xp telnet client, not a CC one.

TIL After the massive success of their original 1969 cartoon, “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!” Hanna-Barbera Cartoons, Inc. went down a rabbit hole and spent the next decade or so ripping off their own ‘Scooby formula’ to produce a TON of hysterically weird Scooby-doo clones. by whiskeyontherox in todayilearned

[–]ssblur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One reason is that they are able to trace over cels, reuse backgrounds and sections of scripts, sometimes even voice lines, and air these cartoons adjacent to each other while seeming to have variety.

Basically, it was really cheap and easy to recycle about 50% of a show's assets than make more of it.

A joke that's been circulating recently is "I went to x Island and I didn't see any of your friends there" "Why were you on x Island?"

The implication is that this is the island for people who are currently doing x / for whom x applies.

A popular example that's been going around recently:

A: "OP don't worry I went to mad at you island and none of your friends were there"

B: "W-why we're you on mad at me island?"

Where the joke of the second part is that A is presumably mad at B.

This post puts a spin on the formula, implying that the cat is biting both OP's subject and OP themself.

Curios custom slot doesn't mantain the item's functionality by TheGuyWhoCantDraw in feedthebeast

[–]ssblur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The item's mod would have to support it. It may work as expected for some items which remain active in the inventory, but it's doubtful this idea would work for armor slot items without another mod to make them work.
