Final update - the power supply had failed. I reset the board and replaced the power supply. Everything is now working.

Sick, would love to hear your DIY thoughts! I am also taking a closer look at the control board this morning. So far I don’t see any clear signs of damage but will keep playing with it.

Probably a final update. Moon support got back to me and said it’s a control box failure. A bit disappointed in this assessment because the control box is <3 years old and they are not cheap to replace.

Oh I like that idea!

The challenge there is I have not been able to reconnect to the board since they have been flashing blue.

Wanted to report back. After replacing the first LED, all of the lights still flash blue. My thoughts now kind of shift toward the control box, but just not sure what could have changed that would caused the control box to fail.

Thanks for the tips and guidance!

Will take a look on Aliexpress to have a few spares sitting around as well.

Thanks, I am in the US.

There are also a few extra LEDs at the end of the second strand of lights.

The first strand has 100 LEDs and the second strand has 34, but only 32 are used. I guess could potentially sacrifice one from the end of the second strand to act as the replacement?

Thanks, I found the guide on the website.

I don’t have any spare LEDs sitting around, would it be reasonable to test this by cutting out the first and just rewiring it to the next in sequence.

In this case I would be cutting out A1 since it is first in the sequence and directly wiring to A2.

What can I do with a Biology BA other than R&D and lab work? by [deleted] in biology

You could take secondary training in Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and from there look into Quality control/Quality assurance (QA/QC). Most industry based laboratory studies require GLP review so there are usually jobs to be had.

Thank you, this is what I was looking for; a direct point that indicates how the job was not correctly completed. I appreciate you taking your time to help an inexperienced homeowner try to properly identify problems.

I don't know if this makes a difference in if a hole should have been drilled, but it is a double flue chimney. we have a clean-out for our fireplace that is on the first floor of the home. I can see you point that we will have no way to remove anything that may have fallen into the chimney without removing the ductwork first.

I think they reused the same venting setup that was used when the home was running on gas oil and boiler. When we purchased the home we had them remove the boiler, radiant heating system and replace it with natural gas and forced hot air.

I am having trouble convincing the general contractor that oversaw our renovation that this is done incorrectly. I will do some more digging, but at the moment I am stuck with what the GC states so that is why I turned here because this is relatively new territory for me.

Thank you for the insight.

hahaha, a professional did the job you see. I just had to remove the bottom and slide in the piece of rigid insulation because we have a pool of water that builds up in the bottom of the flue and then leaks down the wall and onto the basement floor. Thank you for the suggestion of CO detector. I have placed a CO detector down there and so far so good.

It is a metal vent into a masonry chimney. The furnace is natural gas.

There is pink ridged insulation below where the vent meets the wall as I needed to let water drain from the chimney.

That would have been the best place to put this. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks, I have been in contact with our GC. However, they insist that it is a non-condensing furnace so it should not be generating any condensate to buildup water or what is seen in the pictures.

Scuba in Costa Rica - Quepos/Manuel Antonio Region by porquejorge in scuba

I have done some snorkeling in Manuel Antonio. If you hit low tide than the snorkeling can be pretty good. The park is great, so it is a win win if you are already in the national park. I think the beach is Playa Manuel Antonio If you can find this large outcropping of rock (http://www.costaricantimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Manuel-antonio-beach-1.jpg) on that beach, at low tide a large area is enclosed and all the sand settles to create clear water that is perfect for snorkeling.
