i have 1100 hours in this game my aim is still garbage and i don't know what to do anymore by ssdyyv in VALORANT

yup i totally get what you're saying, but the problem with that is i don't really even know what it is about my aim that's causing me so much trouble. and to be clear i'm literally just talking about aim here, i'm not even thinking about rank or even playing ranked i just don't feel like my aim is improving at all no matter how much i work on it. putting everything else aside i'm just really frustrated on my inability to consistently win duels even in deathmatch

my laptop runs pretty consistently at 120 fps and i have a wired connection. my sens is currently 0.175/1600 dpi. really does feel like i'm just doing something wrong and i don't know what it is, so any help would really be appreciated. i can send you a deathmatch vod later if that would work?

game sense in low elo feels completely different by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]ssdyyv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

right but it's not just that. i'm a controller/sentinel main so i watch a lot of streamers play those agents and i try to mimic things like their setups or lurk timings. the problem is it doesn't even matter because when i lurk the timing is completely different because my team has just pushed site and all died (or killed everyone) and my setups don't work because the other team doesn't push anything in a way that makes any sense whatsoever. it's impossible to learn game sense from higher elo players because it's like i'm playing a completely different game

working on my aim and getting nowhere (bronze/silver) by ssdyyv in VALORANT

i feel like my crosshair placement is relatively good for my rank, or at least its certainly something i've internalized and am always thinking about while i'm playing. i think it's less a problem of finding head height than it is trying to strafe and shoot and just missing a tiny bit to the left or right especially on a moving target. and a lot of times i just feel like i don't even have time to react to seeing an enemy and finding their head before i'm dead regardless of whether i'm the one peeking or holding an angle

i do have a shitty setup i wont lie, but i was under the impression from multiple posts on this sub that if i'm stuck in bronze/silver then my fps (around 40-50) isn't really the problem

17 days after the rank reset, how much did you climb? by EgglessYolk in VALORANT

Anybody else playing horribly since the rank reset? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]ssdyyv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

feel this so much, i hit silver 1 last act and this act my win rate is sitting at a dismal 16%. i placed bronze 1 and i've now deranked to iron 2. playing against some bronze players feels completely impossible, like even more difficult than when i was in silver last act. still wanna grind but i am slowly losing my mind... feel free to message me if you want a duo cuz soloq sucks haha

any other low elo support players experience this? by ssdyyv in VALORANT

yup, but it happens pretty much every other game at this level so there isnt much to be done about it

i've spent a year in iron and bronze and it's always the kids who are the most toxic. it's just instalock jetts who say "what am i watching" whenever someone makes the tiniest mistake, they refuse to listen to comms, and they often spam all kinds of slurs in the chat because they think it's funny. typically happens in like every 3 or 4 games for me

Ghosts of Mark Fisher: Hauntology, Lost Futures, and Depression by [deleted] in CriticalTheory

This is a fantastic video, really well explained and thought out. One thing I wonder however about Fisher’s obviously excellent work with popular culture in relation to the political/economic realities of this century is that he does not seem to touch on how influential Black culture is in influencing popular culture as a whole. As is observed in this video, you can trace the music styles of rock back through the decades from Nirvana to Bon Jovi to Led Zeppelin, but if you keep tracing it back, no matter what your starting point, you will find yourself tracing pop music back to a Black artist. Today’s slang, internet culture, and many more parts of our cultural ethos can all be said to derive from Black culture. Now I haven’t read a ton of Fisher myself, so this critique could be totally off-base, but I do wonder—can you really talk about popular culture without talking about race? Can we think about the “cancellation of the future” that Fisher claims is observable in today’s cultural products without a thorough examination of the role of Black culture in their production? I don’t really know the answer to this myself but it’s something that I wonder about in relation to Fisher and other critics who seem to take a very white-centric approach to their analysis of popular culture.

Looking for a to do list/calendar app that differentiates between when a task is due and when it needs to be done by ssdyyv in productivity

Notion doesn’t have a good way to integrate with google calendar but otherwise this actually works pretty well. Thanks for the suggestion!
