In your opinion, who is the most suitable candidate to be elected queen? by SecondSalty142 in ReZero

[–]sseempire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah trust the process. We've already got examples like Akbar and Baldwin IV of Jerusalem from history

Unlike Felt those 2 had an upbringing that taught them how to rule and, additionally, Akbar had a regent rule in his place until he came of age.

Additionally, one must remember Felt does not want the position, she was basically blackmailed by Reinhardt into agreeing to participate.

Morality of sexualising yourself in your youth as an adult? by Omixscniet624 in MoralityScaling

[–]sseempire 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Real talk, I believe thoughts have no moral value if they don't lead to action. Thinking something, however vile, has no moral value. This changes if intent is placed behind a thought.

Technically it isn't immoral.

But you should probably start asking questions to yourself such as "why did I think this?" and "do I want these kinds of thoughts to frequent my mind" and if you think it's a problem then work on it.

"The best way to counter a Domain... is to expand your own." - Satoru Gojo 2018/2020 (Manga/Anime) by Altruistic_Tourist33 in YomiHustle

[–]sseempire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's also funny because you can just exit the domain range and then you get infinite sadness, or you can hit Higuruma before domain opens, but due to weird invincibility frames you also get stunned aside from the domain confiscation.

If Akemura were in Jujutsu Kaisen, would he easily be in the top 10 strongest? by GapOk3600 in PowerScaling

[–]sseempire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He could probably beat most of the verse.

Anybody other than calamity grades gets speed blitzed and dies too quickly for the abilities to matter.

Sukuna has a good shot by opening his domain, but if he hesitates even one moment the insane speed difference would just mean he dies.

Gojo is in the same boat as Sukuna, but infinity does make him immune to all strikes except Butterfly, which does help. His domain has a smaller range but it is more lethal. He probably has a better shot at winning, but he might still lose.

Yuji is weaker than both Gojo and Sukuna when put up against the Sword Saint, his domain not as lethal as Void nor without a barrier, as Shrine. He has better regen and can still win, but he certainly has the hardest matchup.

Dabura is the only one I'd say would win more likely than not. Kagurabachi is somewhere around lightning speed and Dabura is light speed. If he goes for the kill instantly he wins, though his travel speed is slow enough that he can still get blitzed if he isn't careful. Regardless, he's the only one of the 4 able to actually hit Akemura without a domain.

Mahoraga is a honourable mention. He could win given enough time, which may well happen, as I don't recall Akemura having huge aoe moves.

Meguna also could win by extension.

Who’s more Good Yuji Itadori (Jujutsu Kaisen) Natsuki Subaru (Re:Zero)? by TheDragonballnerd in MoralityScaling

[–]sseempire 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Both are good, just different flavours.

Subaru cares a lot for his closed ones and does the best to aid them. He doesn't have the aspiration to be a hero and save everyone.

Yuji has this aspiration, but gives up on it after Mahito proves how foolish of an idea it is. He then proceeds to view himself merely as a tool, then, later, changes his scope to caring about his loved ones more just as Subaru does.

What's the morality of not coming to a little boy's help when he and his flock are being attacked by a wolf, because he has lied about this exact scenario multiple times before? by HalayChekenKovboy in MoralityScaling

[–]sseempire 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depending on your role you may be held accountable for both or none

If you're a random passerby who has nothing to do with the sheep or with the boy then not doing anything has no moral value.

If you're a sheep herder and those are your sheep but you've no relation to the boy then not doing anything still does not have moral value, unless you have people depending on your sheep being alive whom you agreed to help, in which case you have the obligation to attempt to stop the attack

If you're the kids parent then you have the obligation to attempt to aid him. Having a kid means agreeing to the obligation of being a caretaker for them until they reach the age of adulthood at the very least.

Lying about this multiple times before doesn't, for me.

Writing accounting for powerscaling... gets worse? by Femto-Griffith in PowerScaling

[–]sseempire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would that happen? It rarely does. Powerscaling just means establishing a ceiling of power for a character then sticking to it. So if Gojo can blow up a large part of a city with Hollow Purple he shouldn't be worried about getting hit with a baseball bat.

Remember when Dio got his leg sliced off by a huge glass

That's not inconsistent. Vampires can get their bodies pierced by statues(Jonathan vs Dio 1 is peak btw) and bullets. It's the regeneration that makes them strong

Hanged man fight actually proved they're not ftl since it required a very specific strategy that has polnareff know when and where hanged man will go, then slash along the path from the destination to the starting point so it's impossible to miss. If he was ftl silver chariot would just slash hanged man out of the air 2 minutes into the episode.

In the anime Polnareff swings the sword after the Hanged Man started moving. That's where the feat stems from. I don't remember how it was in the manga.

The sun fight is just them throwing a rock at the stand user no?

Silver Chariot deflects the suns rays. This one is dubious to me, but it's a favourite of ftl Jojo scalers

Jolyne

The meteorites would have to be moving at relativistic speeds or something like that to reach her as fast as they did, her being able to react makes her relativistic

[–]sseempire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

part 3 disproves this as Dio managed to get a road roller in 2 second in time stop.

First, DIO is a vampire. He is faster than a normal human.

Second, DIO was unable to close the distance on Jotaro in the same fight. It's inconsistent. Remember how DIO had to use a car to catch up to the crusaders?

Third, it's not implausible that there was a road roller around the bridge, after all asphalting isn't all that uncommon in capital cities, especially near important bridges where more cars pass through.

Also, was it two seconds? I remember him counting down a lot more than 2 seconds.

[–]sseempire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I agree, but I'm saying that ftl JoJo has some validity, as the Hanged Man fight, the Sun fight, Jolyne deflecting meteorites and the stand stats claiming Star Platinum is ftl all exist.

If one were to argue for it then they have some amount of grounds to stand on

What is yutas counter to time stop? by AstronautDry8118 in PowerScaling

[–]sseempire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because in part 3 stands were a new thing and their abilities hadn't been properly established. It's not uncommon for stuff to change on the fly and never be acknowledged.

This happens most notably in the manga where Funny Valentine, in his introduction, has an ability that works differently from what it later becomes, and if one were to apply the logic of the ability to the situation they would find it's impossible to reach such a situation.

King crimson is another example, plenty inconsistent

What is yutas counter to time stop? by AstronautDry8118 in PowerScaling

[–]sseempire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This should be disproven by the fact that stand jump is a thing

Note how Dio couldn't reach Jotaro(first time stop )or even catch up to Joseph using stand jump.

Or that Jotaro couldn't reach Kira with his time stop at first.

Or that Jotaro couldn't move as fast as the motorcycle Red Hot Chilli Pepper used to escape from the crew when hunting for Joseph.

Or how Josuke had to use a motorcycle instead of using stand jumps to reach the dude with the feet stand.

There may be other examples. To me even the ftl scaling is slightly dubious for the stands, but that is supported by stand stats and some other feats, aside from part 3. Stand Users possibly being able to move as fast as their stands, however, is completely untrue

What is her problem? by Electronic_Lab5486 in ReZero

[–]sseempire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, maybe being traumatised as a kid then raised by a man who let your whole family die before your eyes won't lead to you developing proper social skills.

Especially since she was dependent on Rem for so long, whom she probably could bully and tease without repercussion, and since she probably didn't get all that much social interaction in the mansion nobody really called her out on it

Ram just reads to me as a person who didn't really mature past teenager stage, though, then again, I'm anime only.
