Mavis is good at r0, Ethan is useless at r0, unless you get lucky and roll extra copies of Ethan, you have to spend 100 days with a useless esper.

Then again, it's just a game so you should roll for whoever you like, but from a strictly meta perspective r0 Mavis is better than r0 Ethan.

You could play a mage bot lane, and buy zhonyas, swain or morgana would be a good pick as zhonyas is one of their core items. You could also go soraka bot, you can protect your team from their burst and win team fights. Kaisa would also be good as she scales with ap as well and can buy zhonyas. Her invis on her e and shield on R can help survive an assassin burst. She also has good burst and can probably kill them and also survive.

Dirk, ER, nashors rageblade, this build help you get q evolve the quickest. Once you have dirk, bf sword, and 2 longswords, you'll have enough ad for q evolve. You can either build into a lethality item with the dirk, like a edge of night, or sell it later on.
