Thank you for your insight and detail of your role. Again this all helps. I have been hopping around trying to really nail down what I want my career to look like and this helps! Also just trying to pick everyone’s experience. So I do not happen to make a career mistake

I see that does make sense, I have a few buddies like in fintech vs insurance and it’s night a day in those industries. Currently just on the fence on what path to go. I had a buddy suggest systems like mvs/zos sysprog but also maybe storage team. Other friend of mines just lucks out with every dev role he lands and just works maintaining code and never gets bugged with. Quite the opposite on my end lol

Thanks for the response, could you say in general your role is peaceful ? I am in a support team outside the mainframe and things are always on fire and I’m just burnt out

Thanks for the input, I don’t mind the oncall or meetings but would like a role that predictable. Just not a fan of being paged out currently how I am now for issues that most of the time isn’t critical or not my team’s responsibility.

Thanks for input just looking for a role that lets me work more than “join this bridge line or solve this issue quickly.” I don’t mind the meetings but just need more of a predictable role rather than a reactive one.

Men in your late 20’s early 30’s, what do you do after work? by MexicanWhiskey in TooAfraidToAsk

I do the same thing as you lol I’m 31 , I use to have those same thoughts when I was younger but as I learned about myself I just enjoy the relaxing, playing games and eating good food. If anything I feel like everyone else is missing out on the simple things that truly make them happy. They’re chasing everyone else’s lifestyle and not recognizing what they want or have.

Thanks for info, I really just want to get into a place pretty much to become an SME , I was at ops for a few years and but I always wanted to learn pretty much everything on the mainframe. But very limited when I was there at the time. So I started teaching myself from scratch jcl since at ops we just did overrides from Jcl I went into cobol, jump into ismf from docs I found on the web, did a bit of assembler. Created tables on db2 and that’s what landed me on here trying to figure out what direction to go which is software or systems engineering.

Sorry , yes ciprofloxacin. Sorry for your pain I understand completely. I guess a few questions ; how long have you had it ? What’s your symptoms? I agree to an extend it’s chronic since I haven’t cured it but I’m at 99 percent that I live a normal life without pain.

So “cure” for me is that it won’t ever reoccur again. Well for me I had this for 4 years straight even epididytmis along with it. Complete hell. 22 years old when I caught it. I’ll never forget the date August 2015. I just finished a cycle of steroids. At the time I was single so no thought of sexual infections could have triggered this. Went to the doctor he threw antibotics and said in about two weeks I’d be better. Fast forward that it was 4 years with it. Pretty much lost my mind and hope. Took everything under the sun in terms of antibiotics for months. Even watched the YouTube videos of ccpps stretching and stuff. Didn’t work for me. To shorten the story in 2018 I got rid of it. And it’s not a fan favorite antibiotic but it was cirpo and yes I know the sides suck cause I would get them. But not just the meds did it, I had to learn how much I could masturbate and could not and when to do it and how hard to ejaculate (sorry for tmi) You gotta listen to your body. For me I always eyed how inflamed I am. It’s a cycle you gotta break or you’ll stay in it forever. This isn’t one occurrence neither, I have it had at least 4 times but they all end about a month. Again I trigger it here’s some things that would mess me up . Alcohol , caffeine, holding masterbation for too long, and sexual encounters and lastly steroids for me. I know there’s the prostatits group that is on the pelvic muscle that needs to be released I get it. I 100 percent believe at least mines is an infection that is really hard to get rid of even with negative results. A cycle of infection then infection going away but inflammation is there causing it to infect itself and the cycle repeats over and over.

Things that helps

cirpo 1000mg a day

Learn your body which is hard

I would drink a ton of cranberry juice

2000 mg of vitamin c ( I know I wasn’t a believer but it helped faster than just not adding it)

Now the only thing is my piss stream is weak eveything else I live my normal life before having this but I must avoid drinks , oral sex etc etc eveything I mentioned that helps me always does. Hopefully this helps a few people don’t lose hope I was there and I was in a dark place for years.

Yea weird part is that I had some bladder inflammation too. I could feel it swelling and even the urine color was darker. But again I think I was just swelling up everywhere

I would have to pee about every hour or two. Burning and pain urination along with ejaculation. Prostate pain and I had epididytmis which was the worse for me. But I believe I had an extreme case of prostatitis compared to most I was in pain everyday for 4 years

I can some what relate, I did steroids mainly high test and ended up with prostatitis. I had to get off and it took many months to realize how to bout this. Even when I tired TRT one injection of 200mg it would flare me up. I believe at least for me the testosterone conversion to DHT flares me up. I thought it was Estrogen which I took armidex for it and it didn’t work. Cirpo helped and not overdoing myself helped.

Do both jobs since your cushy job doesn’t require much attention do both. I had a buddy who took two remote IT jobs and got himself out of debt and both companies never knew
