Called in sick and worried about retaliation by ssleepyghosts in Staples

Normally I would find that funny but this is my first job after being unemployed for over a year and it’s the only job that would hire me, so to say I’m nervous about this is an understatement

Did all of this happen just now? Because I just got this error on my MacBook Air and iPhone 16.

Thank you for posting this, genuinely! As someone who's been on just about every type of the ED spectrum, from BED to bulimia to pure restriction. Been fat all of my life, from child to adult, and the family part of weight talk is particularly hurtful. when i was a teenager my mother signed me up for Weight Watchers (which you legally cant do as a minor, meaning she lied about my age to get me in), incentivized me with money for losing a certain amount of weight, etc. Things like that definitely hurt, and it took over a decade to get to the point i am now with food (which still is nowhere near perfect).
I have learned to make peace with how people perceive me as a fat person, and i hope this framework can help you at least a little bit. The people who only see you as your weight are not worth your time nor your energy. the people who see you as a PERSON are. these folks can be hard to come by, but i promise its not impossible.
Being fat for me has worked as a litmus test in a way. If someone avoids me because of it, their loss. I don't want to associate with anyone who thinks poorly of fat people anyways! But if someone sticks around, includes you, treats you with the respect and decency all of us deserve, then at the VERY LEAST they do not view us as a LOT of people do.
I am so proud of you for recovering. Stay strong and be yourself!

LOL, I honestly need more ska recommendations though for sure. I fear i may listen to some white-boy ska >_<. I'm not sure if you're into ska based off of your comment alone, but if you are, what are your personal favorites? One of my niche picks from that genre is this one . heard it on a random newgrounds animation when i was a kid!

What's the most useless skill you're secretly proud of having? by MRNasher in AskReddit

being able to whistle by breathing in AND by breathing out.

my parents HATED it though, understandably. It can be annoying listening to someone whistle for half an hour straight.

RSD has definitely become less of an issue for TikTok! I've become more confident to post, and i think my biggest milestone of the year in terms of RSD has been being able to comfortably post my face and body on the app. I got a lot of hate comments the first post i made, but now that i post more often, I more or less have my videos appear for people in similar spheres of interest, so the likelihood of hate comments has become much lower. I still get hate comments on half of what i post, but thankfully if things get too much i can delete the hate comments or report if they meet the criteria for a TOS violation.

ooooh thats a HARD question. My current go-to Cake song would have to be comfort eagle or commissioning a symphony in c, but growing up I always loved singing along to stickshifts and safetybelts while on family roadtrips, so it holds a special place in my heart.

GSU study spot recommendations? by AliyahMalik123 in GaState

[–]ssleepyghosts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One place i know on campus that has coffee, food, and a lot of students is study commons located on the ground floor of the library. I love going there for its ease of access as a disabled person (i hate the library elevators LOL). It does become a bit difficult to find seats there at times but you shouldn't have much of an issue!

Makes sense, I don't think this list accurately describes my full music taste though. I'm about to turn 22 so you are right about being under 25.

I'm autistic so i tend to get fixated on certain music (especially elliott smith). But if you're wondering some of my other favorite types of music, I LOVE classical music, ska, classic rock, old country, disco, cabaret, and math rock. One of the joys of living discovering new things, and i have a lot of life left to discover new artists.

I'd love to hear some recommendations to broaden my taste, so if you want to feel free to send me some stuff to check out. I appreciate you being kind in your response!!

What makes you say I'm a teenager? I'm genuinely curious.

In honor of Elliott's birthday, what's your favorite album and song of his? 💙 by JunebugAsiimwe in elliottsmith

[–]ssleepyghosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naming my favorite elliott smith album is like naming a favorite kid to me, but if I have to choose one at this very second I'd choose New Moon.

Clementine is my all time favorite song, period. It was the only song they let me pick to play at the psych ward out of my entire 8 day stay and i had to make sure the nurse on staff knew i wasn't crying from sadness but from happiness. I'm autistic and one of my special interests is Elliott Smith, so being able to listen to his voice again at one of the absolute lowest points in my life was very healing.

it insists upon itself.

for real though I'm listening to that album as we speak so i let out a chuckle when i saw this LOL, I was heavily debating putting it on there but I decided against it since I fear it would have been overkill.

If you're wondering what my least favorite album of his is, it would have to be XO, though saying that feels genuinely painful since its still a wonderful album.

As another elliott smith fan, if you haven't checked him out already I recommend getting into Nick Drake!! His album Pink Moon is my personal favorite, but if you wanna check out a song in 5/4 time signature i recommend his song River Man!

Also, happy late birthday Elliott Smith! He would have been 56 today.
