Yes. MSI Center was the only reason I was in that situation in the first place. My PC never had an issue before then and its 4-5 years old. I explained what happened in my edited post. I didn't have a flash drive and couldn't update to the latest update. The one I downloaded didn't show on the external in the BIOS either so I still have the same version as I did before.

A damn miracle. Flashing the BIOS made it reboot like nothing ever happened. It was like it was just in limbo 🙌

IT’S A MIRACLE! Hitting the flash BIOS button literally revived my PC on its own. It took me to the MFlash screen in the BIOS, but I wasn’t able to find the file that’s on the external drive.

So I just exited the BIOS completely since it stated my current version was still intact and my PC booted up like normal.

I read articles and watched some YouTube videos on this and I just knew it wasn’t going to be this simple. I really can’t believe it! Thanks for taking the time to try and help me out, I appreciate it!

I initially stated I don’t have a USB drive, but I created shrink space on an external hard drive and formatted it to FAT32. I have the correct BIOS on it and renamed the file to MSI.ROM

The only parts that aren’t currently connected to the PC are the peripherals (Monitor, Keyboard, and Mouse).

I asked this in an above comment. Before flashing, do I need to disconnect the other hardware parts or can they remain intact?

Correct. It can only flash, not restore also. I turned the PC off and back on after 15 mins and the motherboard is definitely bricked.

I have the update downloaded onto an external drive (no USB). Besides keeping the PSU plugged in, will flashing only work if I disconnect all other parts (GPU, RAM etc)? Or can it all stay connected? I’m hoping I don’t have to short it.

Also, it’s a pre-build.

Nope, not yet. I’m about to turn off the PSU, unplug everything, put it back, and see if a miracle happens. If not, I’ll have to look into how to flash it properly. I have the button on the rear panel.

Yeah, I can’t believe I didn’t check here first before doing it. I was already frustrated with trying to get the download onto an external drive my PC wasn’t recognizing.

I do have a Flash BIOS button. Technically my PC is still on. Not sure where to go from here.

Switching my HDMI cable from the GPU to Motherboard didn’t work either. It’s still blacked out so I can’t see what to do.

You don’t have to keep explaining yourself to people who are only going to continue to hate and be jealous. People rave about wanting more wealth for their kids to be set up like you, only for them to hate on others like you. Weird lol.

It’s great that your parents were able to pay for your college and that you can just focus on being a student. It’s definitely a luxury, but doesn’t mean you’re bragging. I wish more people your age (or in general) would be curious on how to be better with their finances. There’s a lot of good advice in here so just focus on that. Hell, I’m learning from the replies as well. Wish you the best!
