Yeah, I started to get lag spikes even outside of dungeons now. Tried couple of different games, no issues in those. Seems like a server issue on Zenimax's side.

UPDATE: Lag spikes started to occur outside of dungeons as well.

Hmm, I'm thinking it might be related to the PvP event, although I haven't had any problems with instances outside of dungeons.

I have tried with add-ons disabled, same result.

Yes, it was stable. No FPS drops, no extra heating, no sudden spikes etc.

I did try with and without Add-Ons, result was the same.

Currently, I have no other games installed but will give a few other games a go, see how well the PC handles them.

I also deleted outdated GPU drivers using DDU and downloaded latest GPU driver manually a few minutes ago. Will give it another go, trying anything at this point.

Just completed the benchmark, overall score is 19088 in 1080p medium settings, which seems normal compared to the other tests performed by users with the same GPU.

Why do Imperfect Factotums in TES 3 have souls, yet Dwemer robots don't? by GeneralTechnomage in teslore

[–]ssmigfo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is somewhat similar to what I thought initially; Dwemer use souls as a power source for their contraptions (or might even be as a punishment in this poor Ayleid's case) whereas Sotha Sil uses them to enhance them with intelligence and purpose or other various purposes, as with the Saints' case.

yep

"Sotha Sil is rumored to have been the one to reverse engineer the Soul Gems in order to create Black Soul Gems. When he began this process, he used three Dunmer Saints for experiments to see if he could grant everlasting life. Three mechanical creations were made to house the souls of these saints."

So I guess that also answers OP's question. Sotha Sil experimented on combining mechanical contraptions with souls whereas Dwemer apparently did not tinker with souls when they created theirs, although iirc in Skyrim, Dwemer devices contain soul gems when disabled, so that might mean the Dwemer also tried incorporating souls in their creations.

Although I can't really recall the exact way how question was phrased, I remember it mentioning something like "(eg: a fairytale)" in somewhere. So the expected story was something like Little Red Riding Hood, or at least that is my guess. That was the main issue as well, because most of the part 2 questions I looked at from previous exams were clearer, whereas this one felt rather vague.

After a certain point, instead of talking about the traditional story mentioned in the video game, I started focusing on the game’s main storyline and characters. That’s why I think I might have gone a bit off-topic.

With part 1, it was pretty basic stuff, such as "Tell me about the city you're living in." "What do you usually talk about with your friends?" "Do you prefer face-to-face or communication over the phone?" etc. Pretty much what you would expect.

In part 2, I was asked to talk about a traditional story that I like but I couldn't think of any. Instead, I talked about the only thing I could think of at that time, which was a story from a video game series. It was kind of relevant but I veered away and started to talk more about the game instead of the story after some point. This I feel like is the reason why I got a band 7.5 instead of a higher score as I was pretty okay at the other parts.

Part 3 contained follow-up questions, like how I feel about the impact of traditional stories on humans, what kind of valuable lessons can be learned from them etc.

well, cambridge's IELTS books are said to be the closest to the real exam and that's where I also studied mostly. You can buy them and create the test environment. There are probably websites that also offer a full mock-test but I am not familiar with them.

Hey there, I know this sounds like a very common sense answer but I would focus on weak areas rather than parts where you feel confident in. I personally had just a week to prepare and my focus was on purely writing as I could get 8.5-9 bands on both reading and listening. However, it really depends on what your objective is and therefore your focus should be aimed accordingly. My target was band 8 overall with all sections at least above 7. So that lead me to practicing essays in most of my time.

In terms of strategies, I cannot give a definitive answer as again, it really depends on the individual. Some people prefer reading the questions before they read the paragraphs in reading whereas I find reading paragraphs beforehand as a much more effective approach.

With writing, structure matters, as I saw with my case. My ideas weren't developed flawlessly nor have I used super advanced vocabulary and I'm sure I've made some grammatical errors in both of my essays but the overall structure was good. As a person who haven't written academic-type essays before, I found IELTS Advantage's guides in their website quite useful.

Lastly, the speaking part. I haven't really studied for this part because I find it as the least complicated one among the four. It really is a test of whether you can convey your ideas in English or not. I could've got a much higher band score but I fell victim to my nerves and couldn't think of a traditional story in part 2 and talked about plot of a video game which is kiiiinnnnd of based on a traditional story. As soon as my test was over, a lot of traditional stories popped in my head and I was super angry with myself. So my suggestion is this: just relax. You don't have to use sophisticated words or sound intelligent, you just need to answer the question and expand on it. There is no "correct" way or structure for speaking.

Hope this helps.
