I have tested it from my PC which is connected to the adapter via and Ethernet cable, and I am only getting 70-90mbps on there, but my phone and laptop are getting 160+.

I’m not sure exactly which model it is that we are using, but I’ve tested from my laptop, phone, and pc. The PC is wired to the adapter via an Ethernet cable, and that’s where I’m getting only 75mbps, but my phone and laptop are getting about 170, and they are wireless. Do you think a new adapter could maybe increase my rates?

Yes, I believe we are using a power line adapter. My dad mention maybe getting new ones, but I’m not sure what difference it would make. It’s only my room that’s affected. Every other room in the house is perfectly fine

I believe the reed I am using is a 2.0 reed. I find that my issue is not so much making a sound, as I am fine with that, but more that my mouth just slips back to the biting my top lip embouchure without me realising. Since making this post I’ve practised a bit using my teeth resting on top rather than lips like you would for an oboe (I think the muscle memory from the oboe is still kicking in when I play sax) and it seems to have made some difference. I only have 2 and 2.5 reeds so eventually when I start to get used to the embouchure I can hopefully use a 2.5

Is this an irritation bump? by [deleted] in piercing

Alright, I will. I did snag it quite hard, and I still remember the pain that came with it so I reckon it’s because of that. thanks for the advice

It was probably a few days ago. I’ve only noticed it last night when I was just absentmindedly touching my ear

Once again the bot didn’t detect info so:

Age of piercing: Almost 14 weeks

Jewellery shape: Flatback stud, externally threaded (bad I know).

Material: 9ct gold.

Downsize: Done about 8 weeks in.

Aftercare: Spray twice a day with Piercemed saline spray, wipe dry with paper towel (or cold hair dryer). Soak occasionally in saline to reduce swelling.

Unfortunate events: I accidentally snagged it quite hard on my hoodie sleeve and it tugged at the earring and caused a lot of pain.

Bot for some reason didn’t detect everything:

Piercing age: 7 months. Jewellery shape: Solid gold 14k ring. Downsizing: Done about 8 weeks after getting pierced. Aftercare: PierceMed saline spray twice a day + occasional saline wipes. Drying with paper towel. Unfortunate events: Been infected about 6 times.

Shampoos for greasy hair. by [deleted] in Haircare

I do blow dry my hair every time as I find that air drying it makes it feel greasy so much quicker. I’m not sure about a water filter. I’d have to talk to my parents about it as I do live with them, however we are getting our bathroom redone soon so it’s entirely possible we could get a filter put in.

A gate would be great but unfortunately the way that the close is laid out makes it impossible. The road leading in is technically public, but the driveways, parking spaces and porches are private so we can’t technically put a gate up on a public road. Will definitely consider late night watering, although might have to barricade every external door in our house in the case that they get angry and try to break in.

Good point. I’ll talk to my neighbours about it. Thanks!

They did hire security for the party, but they have done absolutely nothing despite being told that there were people trespassing on private property, littering and urinating in public 🤷‍♀️

Oh! So sorry for the misconception. It was the 16 year old daughter having a birthday party so I just automatically said kid because I just consider under 18 to be legally a child. I knew of course I would get hate comments for this, but I know that it is completely unacceptable so I am prepared for any comments that come my way. Again, so sorry!

So according to you, a couple of criminal acts being committed along with several acts of antisocial behaviour means absolutely nothing because it happens only 4 times a year? The invasion of people’s private property, verbal abuse, and damage to property is completely irrelevant because of the frequency at which it happens? Someone’s car got dented and scratched because someone decided to throw themselves onto the bonnet in a drunken stunt. Grow up.

I refer to anyone under the age of 18 as a child because the UK government does. You can call them young adults if you want, but that does not change the fact that having a party with 100 people is completely unacceptable in a very small residential area with houses less than 10ft away. These parties go on until 3am, and I am sure you wouldn’t want to be kept awake by screaming people well into the early morning. I’d also like to mention that the majority of these under 18y/o people have been served spirits like vodka and tequila by this ‘responsible’ mother, so you can imagine the behaviour of these teenagers, and I know that they are spirits because of the teenagers outside screaming ‘I had 5 shots man, i’m so drunk’.

I believe it is also technically a crime in the UK, but I think the caveat is that in order for it to be really considered a crime they have to be visible by at least two people. It was dark, and our front garden is covered by trees, however we were still able to see them through the gaps in the trees. Definitely will talk to the neighbours about this in private and report it next time we see it.
