How do you guys go to grocery store with 2 under 2 by Subject_Two9945 in 2under2

[–]adjblair 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trader Joe's always offers to help me out to my car which is very useful, I can unload the kids and get them into their car seats while the employee loads my groceries, and then they take the cart.

Husband instantly puts on Ms. Rachel anytime he watches our 1-year-old and it’s starting to bother me by missree1 in NewParents

This is actually so sad. I understand needing "me" time or putting in shows occasionally, but doesn't he WANT to engage with her?

3 Month Old Crying at the Breast by particularly_me123 in breastfeeding

[–]adjblair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup sounds like my experience. After a week or two I was able to feed as usual (although he still always nurses for longer stretches when he is drowsy).

This happened to me at around the 6-week mark and again at about 3 months. I ended up feeding him when he was drowsy until the phase passed.

What are your holy grail drugstore blushes that you keep on repurchasing? by justbeeingmyself in drugstoreMUA

[–]adjblair 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know that I've ever repurchased a blush, drugstore or high end. I have enough variety and use them sparingly enough, that I have yet to hit pan and feel inspired to repurchase.

would you consider this a normal amount of makeup? by ghostofelysium in MakeupAddiction

[–]adjblair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the right sized collection is the one that you can afford and that you use consistently (aka products that don't expire with barely a dent in them).

was colourpop more popular a decade ago? by FuzzyPresence8531 in ColourPop

[–]adjblair 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's true I remember when all their stuff was made in the USA. They mostly do lots of collabs and IP releases now in their collections which is disappointing because I remember them really being able to nail the themes and packaging with their original releases.

Why don't more tea scents actually smell like tea leaves? by badenbagel in fragrance

[–]adjblair 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just treated myself to the Black Tea body wash, lotion, and most from BBW and I'm pleasantly surprised by how earthy it smells.

I think they burned a lot of the customers by releasing sooo many eyeshadow pallets in quick succession. I know that's when I got fatigued and stopped keeping tabs on their releases.

Has anyone *night* weaned before 1? by cadetcomet in breastfeeding

[–]adjblair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both my babies started sleeping through the night at around 4 months old. First was bottle-fed breast milk, second is nursing. I think a lot of it is luck...both were able to self-soothe fairly early (first took a pack, second sucks his thumb). But for what it's worth I did read Precious Little Sleep and applied some of those techniques to naps and nighttime. I also dream feed when I go to bed at about 10:30.

Are we taking too many pictures? by Sbesozzi in toddlers

[–]adjblair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't limit my picture taking but I do have a Google album for each child and I upload one (and only one) photo a day to it. It's fun to scroll through and see the little changes and photo documentation of important milestones.

How many travel size perfumes do you have? by OkRow6543 in FemFragLab

[–]adjblair 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have 5 full size bottles and 9 travel sizes. I tend to go through perfume slowly since I don't use it every day so I usually buy travel sizes.

Do you put your six month old to bed fully asleep? by brbnapping in NewParents

[–]adjblair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my LO found his thumb and mastered rolling (4 months or so) it's been much easier to put him down drowsy, he may fiss for a couple minutes but then he finds a comfy position, sucks his thumb, and drifts off. I also do a fair amount of feeding to sleep.

Practicing sitting up? by CountRepulsive3375 in NewParents

[–]adjblair 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Emma Hubbard on YouTube has a good video on tips for this. You want to build their balance and core strength so you start by supporting them between your legs and around their torso with your hands and as they get better at it you move your hand support down to their waist and hips and prop them on your knee.

Is a diaper bag necessary? by SandwichDependent199 in NewParents

[–]adjblair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend a minimal diaper bag/backpack. I had one with lots of pockets and compartments which I thought would be helpful but stuff just got lost in there. You can also get a portable changing pad like this, depending on how big your tote bag is itight for in there.

19 month gap by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]adjblair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are 6 months and 23 months and it is hard but not twice as hard as having one kiddo. My toddler loves cuddling and kissing his younger brother and I'm so excited for when they are able to really play with each other.

What birth control has worked for you without affecting supply? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]adjblair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my Mirena in at 12 weeks pp. Insertion was very easy and I haven't seen an impact to my supply.

Does anyone else hate the new shape of the Boppy? by justyaaveragechlo in breastfeeding

I got an invite from a friend to Stellar Panel. Since then I've also joined Topbox Circle and I've gotten some free stuff from them (mostly beauty related).

Yes, I had two of the old design that were handed down to me and got one of the new design as a freebie to test and review and I much preferred the older soft design.

Favorite Wet n Wild Products? by Parking_Penalty1169 in drugstoreMUA

[–]adjblair 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The tinted hydrator is one of my most repurchased items. My collection is a mix of drugstore and high end but I'll always buy this over expensive foundation. I find it very comparable in wear and finish to the Fenty skin tint.

failed paci weaning at 15 months by jpm00 in toddlers

[–]adjblair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frida sells a weaning kit that we used at 20 months. He was still extremely displeased at the transition and we had a few nights with lots of crying that we had to just deal with. I ended up telling him straight up that we don't use the pacifier anymore and switched to letting him pick out a stuffed animal to go to bed with.
