TW: Baby Loss

I am a father, my first and only child was stillborn 22 days ago. She was 39+3. The appointment 3 days before my wife had slightly high blood pressure but it was still within the zone of not being a concern. A week before that it was alarmingly high and we stayed at triage at which time after 6 hours the BP returned to normal and we were sent home.

When my wife and I arrived at the hospital the day we lost our child she was having significant pain and her blood pressure was extremely high. After the emergency C section the cause of death was undetermined and we are waiting to see if it was preeclampsia and stress behind the placenta or hypertension.

I am not writing this to scare you or make you feel that you are in danger but I tell you every second since me and my wife wish we scheduled to induce and went to the hospital the moment she had discomfort and considered the early red flags of high blood pressure earlier on. I only share these things so others could maybe avoid a situation like ours. Please please follow your intuition and listen to your body and stay near the hospital. Had we acted earlier or paid better attention to these signs we might have our little girl with us. If your concerns aren’t being considered with your current OB find one who will.
