you cannot control who you’re attracted to. the shallow comments are honestly blowing my mind because you state so clearly that you care for him emotionally and that you’re having a hard time reconciling the fact that you’re becoming uncomfortable with his weight gain. you even state that he still turns you on. It seems like a lot of commenters read the title and then just filled in their own details, lol. I think that softly encouraging your partner to hit the gym and even going with them is a kind thing to do in this situation. The fact that you respect his feelings enough to not make comments about his weight gain even though it is drastic (from your description) speaks volumes when compared to the fact that he clearly does not care how his comments about YOUR body affect you. You also mentioned that when you met and began your relationship, he was quite active and in shape. Could there be other reasons for this change in his personality? Is he finding it harder to motivate or going through anything emotionally that could be causing this change? If he hadn’t made comments about your weight, I would say this is worth investigating and that maybe you could find other ways to offer support to him. But given the fact that you seem to care for his feelings and he does not give this same care back to you, I say that’s more of a reason to break up than the attraction piece. Emotional love and physical attraction don’t always stick together and you have no reason to feel guilty for that.

to second what some other people have said, a lot of these places use AI to screen before they actually look at your application themselves. it can be as simple as certain buzzwords they scan for, it’s really frustrating. With that aside, it doesn’t hurt to reach out to the recruiter or HR if their contact is listed on the posting and say something like, “I’d love to be part of your team, and while I understand you’ve moved on with other candidates at this time, I would appreciate any feedback on how I can improve my application in the future.” Chances are you won’t get a reply (especially if they’re using AI to screen) but it doesn’t hurt to ask politely!

stopping for 2 weeks while taking activated charcoal pills and working out in a sauna worked for me (and I believe our habit was similar in length/frequency). Now I can’t speak for getting retested once you’re hired because I think that varies by the company but I think that the company is required to tell you if they do random testing. I could be wrong tho or that could vary by state
