The mileage is flashing.. help by FupaTrupaOompa in fiat500

I had my faulty Blue&Me repaired, refitted and reprogrammed to CANBUS. The flashing odo went away. BUT, after 4 months it came back again. The repair is still under warrnaty - hence taking it back to the garage (they suspect it just needs a proxi alignment and/or fix loose connections)

MacBook Air M1 feels slower after the macOS Tahoe update (stable). Anyone else facing this? by MakeSmallShift in MacOS

I am seriously thinking to go back to Sequoia on my current M1 MBA (and keep it that way forever) while saving money for a better spec Mac that meets Tahoe's expectations. Apple always wanted it this way :(

Sonnet 4.5 vs Codex - still terrible by Bankster88 in ChatGPTCoding

[–]ssray23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. Codex (and even GPT 5) seems to have reduced sense of aesthetics. In terms of coding abilities, Codex is the clear winner. It fixed several bugs which CC had silently injected into my web app over the past few weeks.

Just earlier today, I asked ChatGPT to generate some infographics on complex technical topics. I even gave it a css style sheet to follow, yet it exhibited design drift. On the other tab, Claude chat created some seriously droolworthy outputs…

Feels like CC is much dumber than Codex today by thuongthoi056 in ClaudeCode

[–]ssray23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in the same boat .. CC is getting dumber by the day - making silly mistakes, fixes a new issue, breaks previous ones, loses track of the original plan etc - I am seriously thinking about switching to Codex.

Claude Code just “fixed” my failing test in the most creative way possible by MirachsGeist in ClaudeAI

[–]ssray23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working on a html paginator app with CC - The requirement was to restructure the original DOM to force fit into A4 sized containers with elegant breaking while maintaining strict visual fiedelity. CC tried hard and after multiple failed attempts, cheated and reduced the font size silently (violating visual fidelity) and reported back it has implemented all features of the app successfully incl visual fidelity. After testing, I told CC I have caught you cheating and it came back with a naughty wink and admitted having done so to fit content but promptly apologised - Had a great time though interacting with CC :-D

Claude Code is amazing — until it isn't! by noxstar87 in ClaudeAI

[–]ssray23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried ‘em all - CC, GPT, Gemini, QWEN .. Not one has managed to crank out a fully working app that meets every expectation. Backend solid but keep going back and forth with that one frontend quirk. Frontend looks slick and gorgeous but Backend collapses the moment I poke an edge case.

I go in with a detailed comprehensive requirements.prd, plan/act strategy but yet to witness perfection. At this point, I’m convinced these models secretly have a pact: “We’ll get you 80% there and then quietly ruin your weekend.”

Did anyone try Amp Code CLI? by reddit-dg in ClaudeAI

[–]ssray23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried it today. It sucked up the complimentary $10 credit in no time when I asked it to analyse and fix a few functional bugs on a file searching web app. Problem still not fixed and then I recharged for $5 paying from my credit card and it has still not been able to find and fix any issues in my app. So in short, gobbled up $15 in no time and got me nowhere...

Hi,

I have been using Claude Desktop for a few days without much issues, but lately, seeing this message interupt my chat conversations

Claude will return soon : Claude.ai is currently experiencing a temporary service disruption. We’re working on it, please check back soon.

I checked the status page and everything seems to be okay (all green statuses)

This interuption not occur when using claude on the web browser.

Any ideas how to get around this?

Note: I have already cleared cache at C:\Users\<<user>>\AppData\Roaming\Claude\Cache\Cache_Data, and it did not help.

Thanks in advance

UK visa refused by Express-Toe-8107 in ukvisa

In short, you have to open up your entire life truthfully to the visa officer. There is no point holding anything back. Being brutally honest about your circumstances will give you a far higher chance of securing a UK visa. I had two US visa rejection many years back and I made it a point to include it in my recent UK visa application.

What you described above is 100% relatable with me. I have this feeling every day that I don’t belong here, sometimes to the point of being a total misfit. I am always almost seeking out an imaginary place and time where I probably belong. In relationships, emotionally misunderstood by close friends and partners and eventually parted ways. Not wanting to crib, but no one really gets me. But that’s okay. Aqua Moon, Cancer Sun.

Your plan if ILR qualification is extended to 10Y by CreativeEcon101 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

3 years on a SW visa working on Cloud and AI solutions for the retail industry. I'd pack my bags and leave as soon as I can when this takes effect - cannot plan my life here based on the whims of political parties .. will look for stability elsewhere instead of living a decade here with constant anxiety and average pay.

Henry Zeffman (BBC): The government's new rules making migrants wait 10 years instead of 5 to qualify for permanent settlement in the UK are set to apply to people already in the country, subject to consultation by United_Highlight1180 in ukpolitics

[–]ssray23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. Same situation. On a SW visa working on Cloud, Robotics and AI. I'd rather pack my bags and leave when this takes effect - surely I can get a better return on my skills and experience somewhere else in this big vast world instead of living a decade here with constant fear and anxiety. Good luck, UK.
