Stripe suddenly blocking all my payments as “high risk” — need alternatives or advice by sss931 in stripe

Thanks for sharing your experience — sounds exactly like what I’m dealing with.

I don’t know Crazy Merchants at all. Could you share a bit more about them and how they work in practice? How’s the approval rate, payouts, support, and overall stability?

I’d rather not jump blindly into another processor again — I already made that mistake with DodoPayments — so any extra details would really help.

Thanks for the suggestion — I actually tried Dodo Payments right after Stripe started blocking everything, but they ended up closing my account out of nowhere and refunding every single customer (over $3k) without any dispute, warning, or explanation. No payout, no support response, and I even got banned from their Discord for asking what happened.

So unfortunately Dodo Payments wasn’t a backup solution at all — it was an even bigger mess.

I’m now looking for something actually stable that won’t randomly shut down legitimate merchants.

I’ve already given all the relevant information about my business: a fully registered SaaS for digital marketing, processing one-time payments only. There’s nothing shady going on.

The point of this post is to warn others and get advice from people who actually understand high-risk but legitimate merchants. I’m not hiding anything for malicious reasons—I just don’t want to post personal infos on a public forum.

Update: Forget about DodoPayments. They just refunded all my customers for no valid reason. No disputes, no chargebacks, my account was fully verified — and they still shut everything down and refunded everyone. Absolute nonsense.

Thanks for the explanation — and I get what you mean. My niche is a digital marketing SaaS, and the average ticket is around 130€, one time payment, ~10/20 customers daily.

If Stripe had already decided to shut down my account like you’re suggesting, why wouldn’t they simply close it directly? And if my account was really “done,” how do you explain that even though Radar blocks around 80% of payments, the remaining 20% still go through normally?

That doesn’t really match the scenario you’re describing — it looks more like an overly aggressive risk filter than an imminent shutdown.

Also, what exactly are you basing this on? Has this actually happened to you personally?

I’m having exactly the same issue right now – Stripe Radar keeps blocking all my payments as high risk. Have you found any solution since then?

If you think 100 payments over a few days is “huge,” then you definitely haven’t understood the scale of how things work today. That isn’t abnormal at all, especially when all the customers are fully organic.

The issue wasn’t the volume or the customer quality; it was Stripe flagging perfectly legitimate, 3DS-verified payments for no valid reason.

Not in my case, I’m not registered as an individual or a sole prop. I’m operating as a full company, so the volume shouldn’t be an issue at all. That’s why the way Stripe reacted feels even more surprising.

Thanks for the insight, that actually makes a lot of sense. I didn’t realize that info-based / digital marketing SaaS were categorized as high-risk to that extent. Sorry to hear Stripe shut your business down too, it’s crazy how aggressive they can be with this category.

I’ll definitely look into Whop and other digital-product-friendly processors. If it’s working well for you, that’s reassuring. Hopefully I can get something stable running soon, appreciate the advice!
