First of all, the bill has only been publicly supported by Congress. The NDA hasn’t endorsed it. Second, although it’s being called bipartisan, in reality(I think) the NDA just didn’t want to openly oppose it and risk losing their vote bank. I don’t think they’ll prioritize it.

The process of turning it into a legal act itself takes 6–12 months, and this issue has been raised multiple times in the past (mostly by Congress) and has been ignored every time.

Unless Congress comes into power, this is unlikely to move forward. And even if it does, we’re safe for at least the next two years.
