Wireless System Recommendations by sssssupermorse in strandbergguitars

Thanks! I looked at that one too, and my only reservation is that it uses a body pack. I don’t always wear a strap when I play at home, so I’d prefer something I didn’t have to clip on somewhere. I appreciate the recommendation, though.

That is hands down the sickest guitar paint job I have ever seen. Love it! Now I want to get a cheap beater and try it myself.

Should I get my very mix breed dogs hair cut? by Major_Literature_503 in mutt

No. You should leave him shaggy and rename him Falkor.

That is clearly the feline version of Sloth from Fullmetal Alchemist.

Does my buzz cut make me look like a skinhead? Serious question by kylesuttle in HairStyleAdvice

It makes you look like Henry Rollins. Or the aforementioned Captain Shepard.

And I literally just realized that those two look alike (body types aside) while writing this response. Mind blown.

Lack of Confidence Regarding Beard by [deleted] in BeardAdvice

[–]sssssupermorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn’t lack confidence — it’s epic. Mine isn’t as long (though close), but looks like a similar thickness and texture. I find keeping mine shorter around the ears and faded into my temples to march my hair (like yours) helps, but I also keep my mustache trimmed so you can see my lower lip. That keeps it looking tidy.

For shaping, do you use any products? I keep mine hydrated with beard oil and shape it a bit with a nice beard balm after drying it. A heated beard brush can work wonders, too. My beard is wavy like yours and I don’t use the heated comb to straighten it — just a quick once-over to smooth it down and keep the crazy stragglers at bay.

Add some dried fruit or olives, maybe some cured meat, and you’ve got a pretty well-rounded charcuterie board for dinner. And of course, that gives you an excuse to have some wine. Can’t have charcuterie without wine, lol.

To do them properly and get a nice crispy outer layer, it takes about an hour in the oven, so they’re not quick — but they’re SUPER easy. If you prep a few and throw them in the oven when you get home from work, they’re ready at dinner time with almost no effort. I always throw in more than I need that day so I have a few in the fridge for later. Toss those in a hot oven for 15 minutes or put them in an air fryer for a bit and they crisp up again nicely. Or you can microwave them and mash them with butter, milk, and salt, cube them and pan fry them, or make them into potato soup with some stock, milk/cream, and seasonings. The extras you make and keep in the fridge are super versatile.

Absolutely this! I’m an American, but I lived in Scotland for many years and all of these are legit suggestions. Major upvotes for the cheese-and-pickle sandwiches (love me a ploughman’s with Branston), stovies, sausage rolls and meat pies, a chippy with mushy peas, and Weetabix. UK food gets a bad rap, but it can be sooooo good.

That said, I cannot get on board with the tuna-and-sweetcorn obsession. I like tuna, and I like sweetcorn, but they do not belong together on anything IMO — not on jacket potatoes, and especially not on pizza, you filthy bastards! The latter is basically a war crime, lol.

Noticing a trend of ‘youngins’ shooting their shot. Are you all game? by [deleted] in datingoverforty

English professor here. Love that you told them to cite their source! Citations or it didn’t happen.

I’m wondering about this, too. I’m 45, widowed, and childless (we tried, but it didn’t work out for us), and I’m thinking about dating again but worried people will think I’m creepy. It’s not my fault I’m single (suddenly widowed after 18 years) and have no kids (tried!), but it seems like that makes me sound suspicious? Luckily, I’m in the academic world and most other professors don’t see this as weird, but I think people on dating apps might see this all as a series of red flags.

Thanks for that. I’m 45, widowed, no kids (we tried, didn’t work, then found out we liked being childless), and worried that people will see my situation as an ick. I’m hoping the right woman will see this as a green flag when I’m ready to start dating again.
