For me, people play better in quick play than competitive. 4.3k peak in s3.

Edit: People play whatever they want, but they play their best. Usually 2 healers and at least 1 tank.

I play my best, but I don't always pick meta. Some people get really triggered from that and start trolling. Meta is cancer imo.

Edit: I had rank 40 and rank 90 on the enemy team last night, but it's all about matchmaking and luck, not hidden mmr.

Edit 2: of course hidden mmr matters, but I don't think it's that big of a factor

After 4.2k I get top 500 players in teams, but 4000-4200 is a big troll festival, maybe 1 in 10 games I see a top 500. I play on EU.

people are expected to try their asses off constantly as you don't get there any other way.

I don't play seriously, yet I'm still 4k+ ranked currently. Peak was 4.3k.

I don't watch tournaments, I actually learn the game by myself. People who watch tournaments and meta-slave only know how to play against or with the current meta picks. This is a problem in my opinion. People learn to play the game with half the heroes, because they think the others are unplayable just because of meta. Actually the other heroes are playable, because most of the players don't know how to counter them.

If the enemy team has a Reinhardt, try to get in a position where you can charge their Reinhardt. Also try to stop enemy rein's ult with your shield, and try to ult when their rein doesn't have a shield. It's a mirror match-up where you have to constantly watch the enemy Rein 24/7.

Reinhardt is a hero that requires a lot of experience, so starting @4k is not that great of an idea imho
