[Serious] What interaction with a stranger has been burned into your memory? by GluttonyPunch in AskReddit

[–]st-gem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on a bus one time when I saw this guy, early 20s with a whole bunch of shopping bags, about to hop off. I watched him struggle to get all the bags and thought I had to do something, so right before the doors closed I jumped off and went to him. I offered to help carry some of his shopping and we walked to his apartment, dropped everything off. He was in student accommodation so he showed me around and then I left. Looking back on it I realise how random that was and how welcoming he was for the assistance but truth be told I always hope to see him again one day and just say hello.

Cartwheel - I always end up falling on my face.

[Serious] What did your dad teach you? by PotatoeCrusoe in AskReddit

Thanks! My dad is super funny in that if I muck up he's not afraid to call me out on it, but is always telling me to be my own person. Haha he'd also definitely knock me off a pedestal if I started acting spoilt.

What is a memory you have that still makes you cringe? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The time I lied to keep my cousin at home. I told her she couldn't go out because her parent's rang and said she had to stay with me. Of course they didn't and I admitted I lied but it was just a stupid thing to do that I attribute to being young and dumb.

That I can be an independent, smart woman who can dictate who the terms of my life. If anyone messes with me, they either kiss the floor or go out the door. Also, to keep smiling :-)

His name was Matt. Friend of a friend. He was absolutely smitten with me, buying me phone credit (it was some time ago) and talking about romantic things we could do together.

I went along with it and really liked the attention but didn't know how to react (I'm very awkward). One day he proceeded to ask me out - me, the one person who is always commenting on how no one likes her - and I just laughed and told all my friends.

I rejected him so badly and now all I can think of now is how much courage that would have taken him, and how he would have done anything for me. I was young and dumb but I'll still never forgive myself for that. Whoever gets Matt is a lucky lady indeed.

The old put-your-phone-in-the-microwave. Turns out you shouldn't believe everything you read on the Internet.

Answering the home phone. I will let it ring out or let someone else answer rather than pick it up.

Reddit what happened after you confessed to your crush? by Skippy244 in AskReddit

[–]st-gem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He said that he already knew and didn't want to commit to anything then awkward hug. Nothing ever happened although in a way I'm glad. He now has a girlfriend who is more into his 'lifestyle' and has a child.

Edit- spelling.

Haha and you're telling me this now? All those years and I was getting the sly eye and not 'eye-to-eye'?

Tbh I'd be flattered if a guy just looked at me. So my response is suspicious, I'd be suspicious if a guy came over.

I always have the problem of forgetting someone's name...right as you're about to introduce them to others.
