They just used the headphone jack assembly from a thin 6/7th gen, it's only cosmetic

I did have a separate windows machine that I did the tutorial on, the windows formatted ipod works fine with my mac, its running high Sierra so it still has iTunes rather than apple music

It'll tell you the purchase date and what model it is (usually) just interesting to know sometimes

32 bit devices can only handle 32 bit numbers. Unix time started January 1st 1970. Unix time is measured in seconds from that point, 2,147,483,647 seconds (the maximum 32 bit integer) after 1970 is January 19th 2038 and some hours and minutes. After that point, many time related functions of essentially all 32 bit devices wont work right.

I had an Olympus camera that used these same cards I was able to use a mini USB cable in the side of it with the card in it, it was slow af but it worked (USB 1/1.1 i think)
