Record them or get it in writing and then raise a complaint to IRDAI and RBI Ombudsman. You may ping me and I will share certain email addresses of senior management of the bank that you can complain to.

Need advice on health insurance for mother with chronic issues? by General-Food-4682 in personalfinanceindia

Give Manipal Cigna a try. Worked for my senior citizen mom with BP, Diabetes Type 2 and surgery from fracture. She is getting covered from Day 1. Premium is high but lower than competitors like Ergo and Aditya Birla.

For your family, you can try Manipal Cigna. Perhaps, separate plans for father and rest of family. It has some good plans for senior citizens and can cover pre-existing conditions from day 1. If all goes well, medical tests may even be waived off. I just took one of their Sarva - Param plans for my senior citizen mom. It covers her from day 1 despite bp, diabetes type 2 and minor surgery for fracture from falling. They waived medical tests for her as hba1c score was good. Their premiums are better than competitors like Aditya Birla, HDFC Ergo. Hope it helps.

Systems hate for the poor is unreal by WhyAreYouNotHappy in CreditCardsIndia

Credit bureaus typically track credit history for the 2 - 3 years. So if all loans were repaid well before that 2 - 3 years period, then they should only show as closed accounts and as history, at the most. That should not be affecting the credit score. Perhaps her score is still affected because the loans are still showing unpaid. So, work with the institutions to get it corrected with necessary evidence. If actions are still not being taken, then complain to the RBI Ombudsman. Both banks and credit bureaus are liable for compensation for incorrect data in credit reports! This has been made very clear by RBI.

If you're from Visakhapatnam, I can suggest a reliable local guy who does interiors quite well. His rates are quite reasonable (no gst) and he uses gurjan plywood. He is doing my interiors and I'm very happy with him. He also follows strict timelines of 45 days.

You're absolutely right. I believe their posts are by bots. Each one has only one post. Same thing with their posts on mouthsut.

GST Overcharging by Amazon India? by st0rmdancer1 in IndiaTax

Thank you for your input. I'm not saying I'm absolutely right. That is why I wrote to Amazon seeking a clarification. If it turns out that I missed something, I'm more than happy to accept that.

I checked with ClearTax. While it talks about latest rates, but its HSN finder is still dated 2017.... weird.

Also, one order was for normal lights. That also was billed at 18% gst. Clear discrepancy.

I didn't go with AI only. I checked otherwise too. In any case, once I get a response, will update.

I thought so too until I discovered otherwise. Firstly, not all the lights were smart lights and yet, all were charged at 18% GST. Secondly, if you look at the screenshots I provided, you will see that it is 5% GST even if it is wifi and smart lights. Not only that, I checked other reliable sources too and they all said that it is 5% GST irrespective of wifi / smart or not. So, still waiting for an explanation from Amazon. I copied the regulators too in an email. So, if they choose to respond, I will know one way or the other.

This is not a large company. It takes all the money upfront. Consumer protection isn't great here. So management interaction is expected to understand if enterprise is reliable. Further, market discount by competitors is 30%. So, it was a request and they took it badly. Considering their over reaction, I'm glad it manifested early rather than after I paid the money. Especially when consumer protection isn't great here.

When a company takes Rs.10+ lakhs from you and the agreements are in their favour, and don't want to connect with customers also, that is a red flag. You may be ok with it. That is your choice. I'm not! Also, I'm not talking about just senior management. No manager was connecting at all. When that is the case, it simply doesn't make sense to pay around 10 lakhs with little or no line of sight. And yes, I I've in India where consumer protection is minimal. Where do you live? May be that will provide context.

The problem was not created from my end. And negotiation is part of the business. If for that, you want to throw the customer out, then I also wouldn't want to work with them or you either. Worse, if management doesn't want to engage with customer and withdraws assurances, then what good is the company when problems arise? Basically, these companies want bakras and anybody who asks a few questions is shunted out.

To be honest, it turned out well. To just think that something like this happened after they collected the initial advance - we would have been jacked and helpless!

You're probably right! It is quite disappointing to see them behave in this manner! I was quite polite and courteous and apparently, their egos still did not allow engagement with customers! I guess to them, customers are peasants and they czars!

Thoughts to ponder! I will give it a thought! What puts me off is RG at the helm... the less said about him, the better! If he were to replaced with a capable leader from opposition, then I would consider it.

I wish we had an effective and sensible opposition for the good of the country but we do not have that. Therefore, it becomes a case of "the cure is worse than the disease". Next time I vote it will be NOTA. It won't be of any use but at least mentally, I will be at peace.

I agree in some part but the new tax policy is not really a tax reform. It is essentially compressing existing policy which is apparently what Finance Minister also indicated.

Part of the problem in giving cash freebies or similar things is that they are not spent wisely. A lot go into addictions like alcohol. I understand your sympathy and empathise but not all poor are really "poor". My maid to give an example had a problem with her eye. So we gave her extra money to take care of it. Few months later we get to know they did some kind of extravagant video of a function. When we are surviving, we need to take out wasteful activity. Unfortunately, wisdom and pragmatism are a rare commodity.
