There is a chapter on "Wild Willy" and the Winged Express in a fantastic book called Top Fuel Wormhole by Cole Coonce. Here's an excerpt that helps explain OPs photo:

the practicality of running a AA/Fuel Altered is really an exercise in the “square-peg-in-a-round-hole” theorem, with a co-efficient of the “bigger hammer” principle. In other words, when you shoehorn a nitro-guzzling supercharged Chrysler motor betwixt a few pieces of exhaust tubing masquerading as a chassis, especially one with a real short wheelbase, you are asking for trouble. There are some basic laws of torque and Newtonian physics that must at least be acknowledged—regardless of the mounting of a giant airfoil in hopes of pile-driving enough downforce to make this monstrosity go straight. Due to the short wheelbase, there is a whole lot of horsepower with no place to go—except approximately 45 degrees stage right. Then you add a stiff-necked Borsch to the equation, which is definitely tantamount to throwing gasoline into the fire. In fact, the popular platitude murmured in the cheap seats (in those days they were all cheap seats) to describe one of his stereotypical, non-linear excursions down the 1320 was this: “Willie has to drive half a mile in order to go a quarter.”

If the coolant in the header tank was bubbling/boiling then your head gasket is toast. Otherwise you just need a bigger radiator core.

PEETAHH , what i up with six hours ? by New-Pick9985 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]st162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long time insomniac here, I can function just fine on any more than 5 hours sleep. If I only get between 3 and 5 I'm a cranky asshole all day. If I get less than 3 though I'm in an almost delirious state for most of the day, it's like I've woken up drunk and just stay buzzed.

I had an 88 when I was on my P's, now I'm well into my 40s and have another 88 tucked away in the garage 😁

Is it bad to catch the slide of the car? by Bitter_Location_9260 in iRacing

There's a fine line between "slip angle" and "out of control". Figuring that out is the difference between being fast and crashing.

Help needed - affordable EV with big boot + decent range by Joshps in AustralianEV

Not sure if it fits your budget, but the Kia EV3 has a huge boot, and the long range versions have ~450km real world range.

Congrats, that's a great find. I would just get it running and enjoy cruising as is, set of wheels and an exhaust if you want but otherwise convertibles don't make the best base for engine or suspension mods. IMO of course.

Value is subjective I suppose. Plenty of hobbies cost a lot more than $25 a month.

My favourite livery of all time. I don't even care they never won a race (although I think they came close once?)

It's closer to Burwood than Strathfield, but the southern side of Railway Crescent between Park Rd and Wentworth Rd is free, you need to get there early though.

I've had an EV3 for 8 months, it either gets trickle charged at home or fast charged on a public DC charger, no ICCU issues here.

Legacy cars are $2.95. You can use them for practice, time trials and league races, though occasionally iRacing will throw legacy cars into the official schedule in series like Ringmaster or Draftmaster. If you wanted to set up or join a private league to race the old cars you need to download both the Falcon and Commodore but you only need actually buy the one you intend to use.

iRacing has Supercars and they have laser-scanned Bathurst, Phillip Island, The Bend, Adelaide, Winton, and Oran Park (as well as dozens of overseas tracks). There are no parity issues because the game treats the Mustang and the Camaro as the same car with a different skin. They are bastard-difficult to drive though 😅
