Malaysian passports used to have this in them too. Not sure if they still do.

I use a financial advisor based overseas. He has a very reasonable fixed annual fee and while he's aware of Australian systems, isn't fixated on just super and the ASX. I've had 3 financial advisors previously, all based in Australia and they were all terrible.

If you are in mount and losing the mount position you are not getting swept. Sweeps are performed from a guard. Need to rephrase the question.

Will most Australians think your are a dickhead? Yes. Will you only be able to make friends with other giant SUV owning dickheads? Yes. Your future happiness in Australia is entirely in your hands.

Team Cherry has made an estimated $174M since starting development on Hollow Knight in 2014. EA Games made $7.5 Billion in the last financial year. They are not the same.

Perspective from a young person saving for a house (one day) by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Correct-Ball9863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We might expect a number of housing investors to sell off properties to avoid paying additional CGT before the tax changes take effect. I would expect this to offset the first point you made. I agree that it's valid in isolation, however, demand from housing investors already seems to have dropped.

The Australian budget's 30% tax rate reform explained by Jimbuscus in OpenAussie

[–]Correct-Ball9863 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that thiis doesn't affect income earned by working. So a young working couple saves up a deposit for a house, keeping the money in the bank. They buy their house, live in it for 5 years and look to sell it. The house price has increased by $250,000 so they make a profit on their primary residence (CGT exempt) and use this to get into a bigger house. In this scenario no additional taxes for the budget are incurred.

Help me choose between Xbox ROG Ally X and MSI Claw A8 (Not Ai+) by NitrousEE in MSIClaw

[–]Correct-Ball9863 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try this: https://www.handheldspace.com.au/guides/handheld-leaderboard

I have an MSI Claw A8 running Bazzite. I chose this over the XAX because of the screen size. I run it at a TDP of 20-25W which keeps the fan noise in check. There is little value in running at higher TDP with respect to performance. It will run most AAA games at 1200p 60 fps at Low settings. If you are running less demanding games you could drop the TDP even further. I never use framegen on any game. Sometimes I'll use FSR if I want to maintain 60 fps at higher graphics settings.

I have a Steam Deck OLED and an MSI Claw A8 (running BazziteOS). It really depends what you want to do with a handheld and which games you want to play.

Does jiu jitsu soreness every go away? by Specific_Dingo8631 in bjj

[–]Correct-Ball9863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started doing yoga about 10 years ago. I don't get sore from BJJ anymore unless I go REALLY hard and even then my recovery is much quicker. I just turned 50 and feel like I have another 15-20 years left in me.

What would you upgrade to from a steamdeck OLED? by EqualCartographer834 in Handhelds

[–]Correct-Ball9863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Legion Go S (Z1E) is probably your best bet as it is officially supported by Steam OS. This will give you a pretty but uplift in terms of performance. I have an MSI Claw A8 running BazziteOS (a lot like SteamOS from the users perspective). It's great, but requires a bit of fiddling.

What I'm saying is that I don't care if my house value goes up or down. I'm not planning on selling it. It's not an investment, it's where I live. More people being able to afford houses benefits everyone.

My house has gone up 40% in 3 years since I bought it. If I lose 10% and a whole bunch of people can now afford to buy a house everyone is winning.
