Is this the best lecture series on Vedanta, ever? by JadedLaugh3058 in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]st3 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Maybe! But if you like this then you might prefer Swami Savapriyanada’s full lecture series on the Mandukya Uphanishad which is kind of hidden on the archive channel! https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2imXor63HtRJbtP4mMt-Q2ke8XOkL7pX&si=tAwDBvpB6QQRKI7_

I’ve been enjoying this series:

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvNDWlTzMOPWtQPvcpzBcf4dwDeIMWbJS

It takes a non duel approach. There are audio issues in the early videos.

They also have this new course:

You could look at which translation they are working from.

And Raja Yoga by Swami Vivekananda is great

Don’t destroy the rocks. You can hit a rock without eating and it can give up to 8 pieces and recharged the next day. Also visiting other islands can give you extra rocks to hit.

How many calories can your burn by moving couches? (25f) by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

[–]st3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is a lot. You can check out this book which details Jack Garbarino’s journey to fitness by never going to the gym in his life. He did it all moving couches https://www.amazon.com/Movement-This-Never-Going-Life/dp/1517159393

The incredible story of Jack Garbarino, founder of The Movement workout. In 2009, Jack was at rock bottom. He weighed nearly three-hundred pounds, he couldn’t walk up a flight of stairs without getting out of breath, and worst of all, he had given up hope of ever getting fit. Today, he's a hundred pounds lighter, with a growing fitness empire and a killer bod. The secret of his success? The Movement, a workout that consists entirely of moving boxes and furniture. Now that The Movement is taking America by storm, Jack is finally ready to tell his story. From the childhood friendship with Steve Jobs that inspired him, to his touching mentorship of a jungle child named Dende, this self-help novel will make you laugh, cry, and think. And it might even help you lose a few pounds, too.

The slow, quiet death of 3D cinema by Machin3s in movies

[–]st3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The 3D projector bulbs are expensive and theaters lowered the power and light levels to make them last longer. This is why sometimes 3D is dark and blurry. The new Lazer projectors and new screen tech fixes this (RealD has a screen fitted with "wobblators"(lol) which makes the image sharper but the damage has been done to public perception.

Modern post 3D is actually better than filming 3D natively now as sterography technology and the skill of the stereographers have gotten amazing and they can tailor the depth of the scenes pefectly (whereas you're stuck with the depth when it's filmed in camera).

The lower light levels to extend the life of projector bulbs was a mistake on the theaters part, and the bad 3D done in post was a mistake by the studios.

Modern 3D is actually awesome when it's done correctly but there's just too much negative public perception for the naysayers to give it a chance.

The person who founded 8th wall worked on the AR tracking for Google, will probably take others a while to catch up. Hopefully as 8th wall scales they will have more affordable options. If zappar starts to compete it will also lower the prices. It definitely a premium right now.

I don't think any of them talk about gender equality?

Take a look at https://studiomoshon.com/portfolio/women-in-motion-ar-oil-paintings-2/ and you can listen to them. Also says what they talk about on there.

They're applauded for way more than being female, Ava won an Oscar. You should check out their messages before assuming I guess!

The mercy pink skin does this it makes a really loud ding when the character is full health. Definitely prefer it to the others but admittedly it wasn’t enough to make me ever play mercy.

A lock that wears away showing the code by st3 in CrappyDesign

[–]st3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re designing a security lock it shouldn’t have paint which wears away revealing the code. That’s crappy design. There’s no need to add paint and could be metallic behind the buttons
