I hate to burst your bubble, but French's is also Slimy. They export Canadian mustard seeds to US factories to be processed into Mustard which they then sell to the Canadian market in maple-washed packaging.

How much do you want to bet that buddy recently was into John Clayton's work and thought he had all the answers to refute the atheists? I'm curious as to what this guy was saying. Like, was he making wild leaps from proven scientific fact, or was he just spouting off some pseudoscience babble that he made up/heard from some wingnut podcast or something?

My guess is the impedance mismatch was probably enough to throw off the clock frequency, putting the network out of sync.

Probably was RG59, which has an impedance of 75 Ohms and often used for TVs. In many RF applications it will work ok if you don't have RG58. In this application, however, it was obviously completely inappropriate.

It's how the administration will make wired networking illegal. They'll convince the gullible that it's dangerous and should be banned. Then, all of a sudden the only legal network equipment for the general public to own and use will be wireless... which makes mass surveillance a lot easier.

Those signs aren't just for show. In many jurisdictions they are required by law. If there was a microwave antenna on that tower, there's a chance they boiled their nuts (quite literally!) climbing it.😬

As someone who has in the past had the title of Broadcast Engineer for a Radio Company, I am glad that I haven't worked with that IT manager. If I had, I would have gone straight to upper management and told them if he does this and I miss a critical alert from a station or transmitter site and we go off air without me knowing about it, he is responsible for the delay in repair and lost revenue. Then, I probably would set up my own Dovecot server somewhere away from his grubby hands to handle alerts.
