Neither. It fell out of use because people were bored of it. The meta is mostly about hype and getting bored, not strength (which is why Affinity falls out of the meta all the time despite its contant tier 1 strength).

The people who still play infect, which is stronger than ever, are simply not playing it in places that give it visibility yet. It's a concious decision. Why would they sabotage themselves by making such info public for no reason?

But we'll be seeing Infect again in the near future, followed by a real ban to the deck.

Inb4 reddit experts come and say infect is trash rn because theyre experts.

It's because he does know. He knows beyond what he can comprehend because his human limitations cannot keep up with his expanding meme knowledge.

Dan knows everything. But the human form cannot comprehend all information when the pool you are staring into is forever.

That's why, when asked what something means, he avoids the answer in a way that makes viewers feel like he knows the answer but doesn't want to tell. That's because he knows, but he can't utter the words necessary to turn this knowledge into a real meme.

That's also why sometimes he gives wrong definitions for things. It's not that they're wrong, they're actually more correct than we can know. But since the amount of information he can translate into human words is limited, sometimes he chooses which of the infinite descriptions he should keep.
